  2. An update I will put all of Tour 1 chases in 10 blog posts on here the next few days.

Day 6 :- We chased and witnessed 3 Tornadoes in Iowa

    Day 7 and 8 were down/travel days

Day 9 :- We chased a stunning Supercell in NW Kansas.

Day 10 : - Looks like a Colorado Marginal risk day before the changeover

  3. Sorry for lack of updates so far we have been doing 18 hour days and have not had a chance to upload any pictures to work on yet. A quiet period is coming up so will have some chances then,

A brief Update so far though we have covered 3000 miles in 5 days of chasing.

Bonus Day we chased a couple of Tornadic Supercells along the Iowa and Nebraska Border and clocked up 800 miles

Day 1 : - We chased a Slight Risk and photographed a beautiful Supercell in SW Missouri

Day 2 :- We chased a stunning HP Supercell through Central Kansas along a south moving boundary

Day 3 :- We witnessed 3 Tornadoes in NE Colorado after an amazing Colorado Chase

Day 4:- We witnessed a distant Tornado South of Colby but missed the Tornadofest on the Colorado/Kansas Border.

Day 5 we are chasing in Eastern and North Eastern Nebraska today.

  4. Its now just 6 weeks until the first Tour for our 20th Season chasing starts. And our next Tornado will be our 250th seen in the Great Plains and Tornado Alley. I hope a lot of you can follow our progress this year and we hope to send back more stunning images.

Who is a Storm Chase Virgin this season and what are you expecting/hoping to see. Also if you have any questions please ask away and we will aim to reply to all questions in this thread.

This season we will have 8 drivers over our 4 tours and we will be represented by 6 different countries and 7 including guests.

Tour 1 will have Jeff Prescott who is from Canada and Jock McGinty who is from Australia as your drivers both have over 20 years experience out in Tornado Alley.

Tour 2 will have Graham Moore and Ben Cooper who are from England and Arron Hiscox who is from Wales. Again all 3 drivers have a combined 30 years of chasing experience.

Tour 3 will have Graham Moore and Arron Hiscox driving again along with Slovenian Chaser Jernej Liposec who chases all across Europe.

Tour 4 will have Tom Lynch who has been heading out to Tornado Alley since the late 1990s and Melody Sturm who is originally from Holland and who now works at the BOM (Bureau of Meteorology in Australia) and again both have over 30 years combined knowledge and driving experience.

Its looking like an active season with the transition from La Nina to Neutral ENSO Phase and am confident the active pattern is going to sustain through the peak months of April, May and June.

We do still have a couple of spaces left on Tours 1 and 4 so if anybody wants to sample Supercells this year and the biggest baddest Storms on Planet earth please message me or Paul Michaelwaite on here and we can probably get you one of the last remaining spaces.

Regards and see you all across the Pond in a few weeks time

    Paul

I see you have a October trip what's the temperature like then? And too soon for snow?

October is about 2-7c in the Daytime and the nights are generally 1-3c in Tromso and 0c to -5c in Lapland. Snow showers are just starting from the 1st to 15th but by the end of October they are starting to get more accumulations at lower levels. You cant do the winter activities only on the Jan and Feb trips. The Whale watching is January only when you see the Orcas and Sperm Whales

That's a cracking set of pictures there Paul.

Is this the first time you've traveled specifically for aurora? If so you must have been very happy with what you got to see.

It's fair to say your potential customer base has just increased 😉 especially after the few nights

I'd definitely like to find out more information on the tour's

I'll keep an eye out for any future updates.

Its the 4th Time I have travelled to Norway to see them the first time was in March 2018 and saw them in both Sweden and Norway, then went again in October 2021 after everything got opened up again after Covid and again saw them in Finland and Sweden. Went in January and February and saw them 4 times. The most important thing to have up there is a car to be mobile and find the clear skies as Tromso is coastal and gets plagued by a lot of thick cloud. Have also seen them 3 times in the USA whilst on Storm Chasing trips, the lowest at 44N in Colorado on that last huge event in 2015.

The Northern Lights Tours area has been added to the Weather Holidays Section now and has lots of Info and Pictures from the recent trips, what we get upto in the day with Daytime Fjord location Photography, Snowmobiling, Dog Sledding, Whale Watching etc. Link Below

They really are once in a lifetime trips, and the snow is epic if you like that as well, the -28c last week not soo much lol but we have the winter clothing for that so was still toasty warm.
