Wobbly Lorries in Windy Conditions. Well folks, speaking as someone who has had a few near ones with an artic I can assure you that high winds on high bridges with a high sided trailer are high risk, and can be scary. If its windy and you are on a motorway or dual carriageway, leave room for lorries, lots of room as the drivers have a lot less control than normal. If you are going to overtake, do it and don't dither about. I nearly went for a swim in the Manchester Ship Canal with a 6 wheel Volvo unit pulling an empty double deck triple axle trailer one dark stormy night. I also had a memorable twitch from a low flying freight ship on his approach to Heathrow, I was driving a well cacky Merk with an empty double deck curtain sider on the M25, fortunately I took note of this aberration, popped on my hazard lights and got every one slowed down to 40mph, I still needed two lanes to stay upright. Stay safe.

Temp now showing 1.8 with cloud building from the west, it was a nice sunny day in Bedford.

I noticed earlier in the thread that there was some debate about vehicle inertia, 4x4 and the rest of it (car drivers). Lets think about doing doughnuts with a DAF puddle jumper. Respect to the best, MACK 6x6 long may the memory of the best, live forever.

I also feel it fair to point out that boats have a history of development, using wind power (many casualties.) I wonder if carrying all that lard around makes swimming a palatable alternative to firing up the truck? (septic find out) I'm not the most good nature'd of people and I mean to hold on to what I have. My thoughts and prayers to the guys up there with, a rotating wing aircraft a crew and enough gas to get home.

A very nice day here as well, plenty of sunshine and a nice cool breeze. The temp at the moment is 23C, I am looking forward to some funder later on in the week. A shot of the butterfly bridge I took in the sunshine yesterday.

Some nice steady rain here in Bedford for the last couple of hours or so. Temp 12c so, good weather to go to bed with the window open and listen to the rain.

I really hope that we get some serious rain here in Bedfordshire, It has been dry for far to long in my opinion. A local farmer has taken a cut of hay to try and supplement his stock's meager grazing and the field looks parched. I have to pull some weeds and the garden is as hard as a bullet, if anyone knows how to do a rain dance, please feel free to perform. Have a nice day people.

26/7C Here in Bedford, some broken low cloud and a nice breeze. Sleep was ok last night with all the windows open. My commiserations for those of you working in this weather.

30c here at the moment, I hope this hot weather breeds a few good thunderstorms. A bit of localized flooding might be nice.
