  1. Only 27C in Manchester according to XC weather.. I really cant see 36c here as GFS has made out
  2. Here's a met office prediction for July 2050.. I posted this last year and oh how I got laughed at and told to ignore it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I-o4IXrS8do&t=43s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I-o4IXrS8do&t=43s
  3. Met office temps for Manchester are looking really poor considering how high uppers are..... Funny in august 1990 we managed 35C and uppers were below 20c...I cant find any 850 hpa charts going back to 1990 wetterzentrale only goes back to 1999 unless someone can post them... But here are the Manchester temps from Aug 1990
  4. Potentially 37/38C in the Manchester area on both Monday and Tuesday on the 18z which is a step forward. I'll take that.
  5. Northolt for London showing 40C on the bbc app. First time i've seen a 40C for the UK. I have a feeling we're going to smash the all time record twice, first on Monday then again Tuesday. Welcome to the new climate.
  6. Why are there dew points below freezing? Does this mean there will be frosty mornings and its going to feel much cooler than it will be?
  7. Is it me or do those temps just keep increasing run by run?. Yesterdays runs the gfs was around 35C for Manchester, this morning it jumped to 37c then to 38c and now its 40c under my head!! Come on met office its time to unleash that red warning.
  8. The met office app for Manchester are still yet to "up the ante" for Monday, still showing a ridiculous 31C.
  9. 42 in Yorkshire, are we joking? Lets add on another 2c as GFS always underestimates
  10. im never usually checking models at this time of day but wowzers GFS with a stonking 40C and funny enough its in Yorkshire and not London. 34C in parts of North East Scotland too.. Then come thursday and its back into the high 20s possibly low 30s and the heat in Europe doesnt stop...... Watching models lately is as exciting as watching the world cup, we right there in the finals!! 40c is coming home!! No more years of hurt, no more need for dreaming! 3 lions on a sweaty shirt, GFS still gleaming!!
  11. The minimum on Monday night for Manchester is only showing 17c which is a joke as it doesn't really prepare people for what could be a truly uncomfortable night
  12. Looks better for nationwide heat on 18z next monday. 36C very widespread with 38C right up the eastern backbone of the UK towards Scarborough. Tuesday looks truly hot , 06am its 28C so i guess another widespread hot day.. This is going to make August 2003 look like a cool day
  13. Why is bbc weather still showing figures of 27/28 for Manchester on Sunday and Monday? Very pessimistic considering with 19 to 21C uppers it could be mid 30s and theres a extreme heat warning covering us. 28c isnt really extreme heat
  14. i think the downgrades have begun... We are just exactly where we were two days ago, everythings being pushed back. Sunday looks to be now off the cards for record breaking 40C..
  15. In my honest opinion i dont think this will verify.. Most certainly if the comments are true that the GFS problem of under-estimating max temps has been fixed then i think the GFS needs another looking at as its now over-estimating. Could these temps just be "feels like" temps? Or maybe the GFS programming could been programmed and is now displaying the "feels like" estimates I mean 42C for York, Seriously?? and 40C for Manchester..... oh jesus come on? Its a struggle to get 31C here never mind 40C.
  16. You know the next couple of clicks are going to be exciting when you see charts like this for 9am
  17. So wouldn't that mean the temps at 9am showing 35C would be showing the maxes from 3:00 to 9:00am?
  18. Looks better for Manchester next Sunday. 36C for us and potentially 43C on both Sunday and Monday.. Madness
  19. I'd expect the night time record to go if the op is right. 23.9C in August 1990, a forgotten extreme heat wave.. Probably the one that started all these spikes then getting more and more frequent.
