Yep they certainly are, lightningmaps always does this when there is a powerful storm near by such as the one in central France,i always use blitzortung.org any day
Lightning & Thunderstorms - United Kingdom, England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland
WWW.BLITZORTUNG.ORGBlitzortung.org provides lightning and thunderstorm information in real time on maps for USA, United Kingdom, Australia, new Zealand, Europa, Africa, Asia and other...and the more international one which you can zoom in or out.
Blitzortung.org - Live Lightning Map
MAP.BLITZORTUNG.ORGBlitzortung.org, lightning and thunderstorms in real timeLightningmaps is more accurate with actual storms overhead, with a thundershower I had earlier this year Blitzortung missed more close strikes, but yeah watch out for the false strikes

Langdon Bay gone up again to 25.9C at 4am, sunrise at 5:30am. Hopefully the early sun heating won't change the wind direction before 9am.
That’s almost tropical!

Looks like Langdon Bay could actually beat the record, it’s risen back to 25.5

Is this minimum temperature measured from midnight to midnight or dusk till dawn?

I wonder if with all the cloud the highest minimum record will go tonight?

Have just heard a gentle rumble of thunder just to the south of me.
That must’ve developed very fast, only light rain on radar

wow 5 CM hail. I can’t even think what that would be like to experience. The most I’ve ever seen is about 8–12 mm.
I can’t remember the last time I had hail in a thunderstorm, I always seem to get lots of spring showers with pea sized hail but never from a thunderstorm.

Right no laughing, but normally I'd expect storms to fire in the 'Red Baguette' zone and move NNE, however looks like this areas is possibly too heavily capped leaving it very touch and go. I can't see any Ac Cas with concerns me a little as would normally be able to do so even though my view is blocked to the south as in something of a valley!
The capping kind of fits the Estofex lightning line

It’s quite rare in the situations, even when we get busts not to have any Ac Cas breaking out coming into the south. All I see are wafts of cirrus from the anvils way out south.
Yeah that could be a worry, but maybe it’ll be a late one, we need something closer to the south coast

Exactly my point. Harsh winters every year. Heatwaves? No. Glorifying unseasonably warm weather has to stop. It has deadly consequences.
I don’t think people are glorifying it, I think people are just happy for a summer heatwave after all the cloud this June
Edit: I thought you were talking about here, sorry

Rain’s finally ending here as the north of the low decayed but wow, it just didn’t stop!

Checking stations across town, looks like we’ve had 40mm+ so far and currently belting down still as I type... doesn’t look like any let up soon either judging by the radar. Can’t remember the last 40mm+ day we’ve had, let alone the 50mm+ it’ll probably be by the end of the day.
One of the wettest summer days I remember

Wow massive bolt across the sky
