  1. Hang on, the lone sleet symbol who refused to go home has managed to drag some of his mates back out to play.
  2. Joe Snow Has to be the worst... Cold rain, a fraction the wrong side of marginal.
  3. My hope has drained away but here are the latest Icon & Arpege, still say very much hills only.
  4. It's downgraded at a rate of knots last few hours, it'll be rain for everyone at this rate lol.
  5. WillinGlossop Good luck tomorrow mate, I'm sure you'll do well I'll trade you for 3 points instead
  6. ECM has joined the others in downgrading... A messy mix of rain & snow now, not much accumulation there unless you live up a hill. Orange = rain/snow Blue = snow
  7. frosty ground There are a few who pop up mate when it goes wrong or look like going wrong, they need to get a life or another hobbie! Yes it doesn't look great now but there have been times over the lat 24 hours particularly it looked a lot better.
  8. I disagree, yesterday and this morning where looking a hell of a lot better for certain areas than the latest 12z's.
  9. GFS, maybe a few hours of transient snow. Looking a definite backtrack with the 12z's so far. Hills will prob still do ok.
  10. frosty ground Yes it seems to be quickly going backwards, gfs just started so lets see what that comes up with.
  11. To kick things off, the Arpege is pants unless you live up a hill. The icon is crap too lol.
  12. russwirral Even the Heswall forecast has downgraded a little. Even though saying this kind of setup is our best, I've changed my view on that slightly. Our best setups involve a big blocking high to the northeast, low pushing in from the southwest creating a raw south easterly. We don't have that, so that's why I think it is far more knife edge and favoring elevation more so. I still think a period of snow is on the cards say 9-12 but I can't see totals being much above 2cm on the Wirral if that.
  13. Mark_p I can honestly see a period of decent snowfall in our area between 9am-12.
  14. Joe Bloggs I really do feel your pain with that shadow effect as the Wirral has many ways of avoiding snow too depending on the setup, that 5 baron years quite recently was horrible, chasing, posting, chasing, posting only to sit here with rain while pics come flying in of snow all around the region. I suppose it's swings and roundabouts with certain setups and certain parts of our region, the region has crazy localized weather at times. My fingers are crossed for you. We might still end up with rain yet, who knows.
  15. Joe Bloggs The Wirral & parts of Liverpool have upgraded overnight Joe, it's by far our best setup, about a 1 in 10 year event. As others have said, the Met text forecast doesn't really match this mornings charts though from what I can see. I'd say snowfall pushing in from about 7am in the south of the region, lasting until about lunchtime before gradually fizzling out. The 2 main ones. GFS ECM The snow then continues to push north turning a little more patchy as it does so, quickly followed by another heavier pulse which will fall as rain in the south of the region but snow further north, especially on the hills. I think most of us will see the white stuff Thurs or Fri. Thurs pm. Fri early hours.
