  1. Yes, the River Irwell shows as holding it's level near me at the moment - River Irwell at Manchester Racecourse :: the UK River Levels Website
  2. Hahahaha, it's not quite that bad, at least the water looks all nice beading off the paintwork!
  3. Well it well worthwhile giving the car a good wash yesterday and seal (or not), at least I got all the mud and salt off it and from under the wheels wells, sills etc I guess!! lol
  4. Bit colder again outside and more of a wintery mix, but it's so light it's really hard to tell if it's sleet or snow and rain mixed.
  5. Seems to have gone colder outside in the last hour, still just raining though.
  6. Looking at the weather radar just makes me want to cry, if it was just a few degrees colder we would be buried, but alas this is Manchester so it's just raining!
  7. I have noticed today that the Meto forecasts for next week are showing slightly lower temps than they were yesterday.
  8. Nowt here but a bit of slush, in fact less snow on the ground this morning than when I went to bed last night! Oh well.
  9. Very lightly snowing again here, so lightly I can only see it in the headlights of a car parked in front of my house.
  10. Hoping that what is currently passing over the Isle of Man will make it here, looks like a lot more than what we just got?
  11. Is really picking up in intensity and size of flakes here now
  12. Some flakes starting to fall here now, look to be getting heavier, stuff from overnight not yet melted.
  13. UK weather warnings WWW.METOFFICE.GOV.UK Met Office UK weather warnings for rain, snow, wind, fog and ice. Choose your location to keep up to date with local weather warnings.
  14. Metoffice have just updated today's warning to include snow (was just ice) for a good chunk of the NW.
  15. Those are cold numbers for the Wirral for sure, being from Bebington originally I can remember pretty much always being disappointed by the lack of cold compared to everywhere around us, with a few well known about years in the 80's and 90's of course.
  16. Looking at the weather radar, is that more possibly heading our way from the Irish Sea?
  17. Bit boring today but this pic popped up on my FB memories, 10 years ago today I had to abort driving to work due to a few people who can't drive in the snow blocking the roads, ahhhh memories!!
  18. It's gine very dark in Manc CC and something white is coming down hard, can't tell what it is from my desk though!
  19. Was a 20 second flurry of something frozen when I just went outside.
  20. Don't say it, I can't cope with another cycle of excitement and then let down! Also was only -1 this morning at 7.50am when I left the house, not the coldest night of winter at all.
  21. But winter tyres would only be better than normal ones for a couple of days each winter, most of our winter months they would be worse. What we really need in this country is car manufacturers to stop fitting normal cars with summer performance tyres from new, all cars in the UK should come with all season tyres, if you want high performance ones for the summer you should have to buy them separately.
  22. Thin layer of snow here, not much but it looks pretty, is much more than last year's beasterly gave us (nothing stuck here for that!). BBC weather shows tomorrow to be a purely southern event.
  23. Snow picking up again Manc CC, seems to come in waves.
  24. Snowing in Manc CC now after raining for a while, not settling as yet.
