Little bit of dripping here, sky going very “I’m about to dump snow” grey again.

Suspect councils are hoping for afternoon rain before risk of frost. Won't want to waste salt.
Just had a gritter spreading go past my house, I think we are getting more and it’s a surprise for the council!

I went outside around 2pm just to see how hot it was and I have never, even when on holiday in Spain in the depths of summer, felt anything like it, the heat of the sun and the wind, just popped back out a few mins ago and, while still stupid hot, was nothing like a few hours earlier. Also, looking at the trees, the wind seems to have made a marked change in direction now, so fingers crossed we are on the wane………………

Is starting to have a proper go at snowing here but the ground is soaking wet already and it's not cold enough to stick.

Sudden heavy hail just started here.

I'm liking the talk of potential colder weather coming in the model thread and by the MET as the failed flue liner for our wood burner is (finally, after 2 years of not being able to use it) being replaced tomorrow (with Thermocrete, not short lived stainless steel like we have now), and am looking forward to some cozy nights in front of it and not having to worry about how much gas our 43kw boiler is chewing through!!

Edit- and it's stopped.

If there is snow in the hills I can just head up to see my friends in Edenfield, they live pretty much at the top of the valley, though if there is snow there it's a long walk from the main road up their drive to the house as even their 4X4 pickup (with winter tyres on it) can struggle to get to the house (sometimes it can't!).

A few flakes blowing in the wind here in Salford, look like they MIGHT be getting bigger and a bit heavier, not expecting much but it's always nice to see.
It is infact getting heavier with bigger flakes now.

A light dusting here overnight, has just started snowing now, only lightly but some decent sized flakes.

We seem to have a nice large (ish) band over us now, is coming down better than I have seen yet, "could" get some laying snow, would be nice if the wind stopped now for an hour or so!! LOL

I have a feeling this is going to be a repeat of the 2018 BFTE here, days of pretty much consistent, but extremely light snow that didn't stick or accumulate at all here.

Just gone a lot darker here and the snow is starting to come down with a bit more intensity, less windy as well. Hopefully this might be the start of more prolonged and organised showers......................

No snow here, but the bitterly cold wind is drying up the ground nicely, hopefully a bit of snow later according the Met which should stick.........

Met Office warnings out already for from Sat.

The rain had cleared through a couple of hours ago or so here and I was expecting a milder feel, but to my surprise it is still pretty raw outside. As suggested above, it seems the ppn is way ahead of the milder sector.
I've just been outside and to me it feels colder than it did when I first went outside earlier around 7am. Is just wet here btw, was a bit of slush around at 7am but is all gone now.

Has gone very grey and getting very organised, big flakes coming down on top of what we already have. This is already the biggest snow event here for a LONG time.
