  1. Snowing again, bigger flakes than yesterday. In the path of a streamer it seems. Onwards to Coventry looks like!
  2. heavy snow shower now with a clear sky behind it. Rinse and repeat, This is the story of today. After dark later could be a different story as others have mentioned.
  3. Bring it on! Just picked up here a bit. Not settling so much, looks a bit wet on the ground. loads of streamer activity to come I hope!
  4. send it this way Just had a polystyrene flurry for cliffs sake!
  5. its odd, the showers are steaming through as well. Just had an intense downpour then slows down again. Partially settles in places. I think it is still early days, the streamers of the North sea just keep coming. Not seeing any of this as a downgrade...yet! Plus the short range models do have this down at all. Weather apps are going to be way off too. At the moment there is another streamer heading right this way via Leics-toh!
  6. Anyone else looking at the precipitation charts? Arpege v Icon V Euro4? Not showing much going forward after today. Guessing showers will continue to pop up though which is probably why the yellow warning is in place. Still light snow on and off here. A bit meh to be honest so far! Radar looking good NE of East Mids though.
  7. we seem to have grown a snow shield: See how that gap has got bigger! Looking ahead, arpege and EURO4 poles apart as far as I can see. Arpege showing more showers developing later 3pm tomorrow AM We are not done yet hopefully.
  8. As if to mock me, a gap keeps appearing on the radar for my location! In reality though the snow has just go a little heavier. Unpredectable. hopefully these showers will intensify during the morning, Good luck all!
  9. Looks like a didn't miss anything then? Just took a little peek at the radar and looks a lot more like it! Lots of activity and light snow started again here.
  10. light snow again here, settling a bit too. Always as I decide to go to bed
  11. Very light, quite breezy out too. Looking at the radar might pick up later?
  12. That’s home and work for me! Interesting start to the week!
  13. The cold is not in situ yet I thought? Too early doe downgrading isn’t it?
  14. what timescale is that?? Just read the UK METO update - looking good going forward. Would be a surprise not to see snow. Brilliant output on the models still. Nothing to complain about!
  15. Real uncertain picture IMBY - Both Arpege and EURO4 have little precipitation for tomorrow after whatever we get overnight. These do not pick up shower/streamer pop ups. This could be an unpredictable few days and looks quite cold Arpege tomorrow AM. Euro4 same timeframe then Monday AM! Radar watch alert for the coming week!
  16. Significant decent cold outputs, consistently showing cold for next few days! Would not be surprised if we see more warnings yet! 6z soon....
  17. That is the visual embodiment of the sort of the thing that happens!
  18. The colder air moves South and more widely into the Midlands according to GFS 6z by about Midnight Sat. Interest will more likely be after then. Euro4 Similar timescale shows some precip around but moves South? Arpege - more widespread Honestly is going to be radar watch from tomorrow PM..
  19. Yes, Arpege and EURO4 has heavier precipitation Midnight through early hours. Definitely interesting. Not sure what models are going for dry but maybe location dependent. SE Midlands looking ok too. I think this one is going to be a nowcast radar watch more than anything!
  20. I wouldn’t worry about discussion in the mod thread, it is often from an IMBY perspective, or deliberate trolling. We have some of the most impressive charts we could expect in the real near term, from Sunday onwards! Maybe not whole region but a good period of cold and chance of snow coming up. Anyone predicted warm SW flow yet?
  21. Just seen the 0z gfs. Seriously? Will be interesting closer to the time, definitely watching this one!
  22. If we go from the 6z GFS this morning, we will be in for some wintry weather Sunday onwards! But usual caveats apply so I'm going to not even think about it until Saturday/Sunday morning...
  23. I find North Mids is mostly seen as Stoke, Derby and locations generally parallel. I would not worry about predictions in mod thread too much, it's always on,off, too far North, South, East or West based on their location. For me too early to tell for next weekend yet but at a guess is looking good!
