Gusty very strong winds but few and far between with quieter periods..so far
Same here in Bridgend I'd say - quiet then suddenly huge ferocious gust of wind then quiet again.

Schools in Cardiff, Swansea, most of the south Wales valleys and parts of west Wales will be closed on Friday. Gosh it's pretty scary isn't it? I'm from north west Wales originally so I'm used to strong winds and severe weather but now living in a more populated area in the south east (Wales) I'm slightly worried about this one.

The red warning for such a small area, actually devalues the amber warning for elsewhere in the eyes of Joe Public. They’ll just assume that it’s not that bad if they’re in amber.
I remember Met Office issuing red for parts of England where there were much less rainfall while Wales remained in amber, seeing 100m+ of rain and some towns in south Wales valleys under water. They definitely have some work to do with their warning system.

I'm here in Bridgend, south east Wales (around 6 miles from the coast). Went a bit quiet overnight but the wind has started to pick up again with a recent gust of 25mph.
Interesting webcam to keep an eye on tomorrow in Porthcawl.

Little rain overnight and some light rain around this morning. Amounted to 1.52mm.
Rather boring weather at the moment but will be nice to see some sunshine towards the middle of the week.
I've had a new weather station too so feel free to take a look. Looking forward to some higher temperatures in the summer and UV levels to test the station's UV function:

Anyone else still in the No Storms club? I've had no overhead storm or have seen a single lightning this year... I have spent time in north west Wales and south east Wales. I'm not really sure if I'll see any this week either!

Let's see what today brings. I've been ridiculously unlucky this year - spending time in north west Wales / Bridgend and Cardiff and haven't seen any lightning. All I've heard is a couple of distant thunder. I'm in Bridgend today so who knows...

Hi lovely netweather friends I am trying to find a place in Wales for my mum, where she was evacuated to during WW2. As far as I know it was not far from Llandrindod, it was something like Cymagerwyn, I am not getting the spelling right, I would appreciate any help. Thankyou

Consider yourself lucky! No storms at all here this summer. A season to forget!
Hopefully we will get thundersnow this December!
Nothing much here in Cardiff either - we had a day in June and that's about it!

We're missing all the heavy rain that was in the forecast for Cardiff today. Currently dry, with the occassional spot of rain. Quite gusty though.
-
Not much of a heatwave here in Cardiff. Overcast and dull. Yesterday was the same, so quite a disappointing week up to now. Let's hope it brightens up this afternoon.

Raining here in Cardiff at the moment - big lumps of rain.

I'm up in north west Wales - heavy rain here in Deiniolen after a few rumbles earlier. Caught one strike on my phone. Also seen many reports on Facebook of large hail further west towards Cricieth.
