  1. Watching the radar and precipitation has really begun to bulk up now off the coast. Lots of lovely green echos heading thus way, any reports from @Donegal?
  2. Yeah it seems radar coverage cuts off about 50 miles off the Donegal coast. Id imagine the precipitation band stretches out the way we can see off the.coast of Scotland. It seems to be moving in quicker than anticipated. Everywhere is still totally frozen here, snow will lie immediately, looking forward to the radar and lamppost watching. If this was SE England the NW servers would be crashing about now.
  3. @Donegal met Eireann have the precipitation moving in earlier tonight around 8pm for you. Temps shown indicate that we could be seeing some white stuff. Just watched the met office forecast and they are clearly showing snow for higher ground and even mentioned high liklihood of snow to low levels too across Ireland. UK weather forecast map - Met Office WWW.METOFFICE.GOV.UK Met Office 5 day weather forecast map for UK including weather warnings, temperature, rain, wind speed, cloud, and pressure.
  4. Euro4 model showing this precipitation hitting donegal coast approx midnight and crossing all Ulster then dropping south. Our locations look to be the best bet for timing and intensity of precipitation. Appears to fizzle out and break up as it moves down through the country.
  5. Just seen this from the met office yesterday...some potential wintry weather around for Thursday, especially higher ground?
  6. Mild sector kicking in already, raining here now☹☹
  7. Seems to have been a good streamer went through at bout 6am. Couple of cms here.
  8. Gotta half decent shower that made it across Sperrins 20201230_233241.mp4
  9. Hoping to catch the Eastern end of that shower, looks like it might push the 8 or 9 miles east of Omagh i need it too. Desperate times call for Desperate measures
  10. @booferking its very frustrating how the Sperrins kill the showers. Like they're coming in NNW and dying out bigtime. Small difference but if they come in WNW or NW I get hammered!
  11. Its snowing here! Better shower activity moving in too. Hopefully this keeps up during the night!
  12. What a day that is, took my wee lads for a walk round the Lough in Loughmacrory. Was absolutely packed with families doing the 12 days of Christmas trail. The lougj still frozen around the edges.
  13. I see the met office have extended their snow and ice warning out to tomorrow morning at 11am. Seems a bit odd considering the lack of precipitation around. Although there appears to be more happening around the west coast of Scotland heading our way.
  14. Any sign of shower intensity increasing during the night? Not much happening so far!
  15. It is yeah, I've got a lovely view of it from my bedroom window. Wet snow/sleet here now with me, you can see the colder air (-5 850s) moving over Ireland from this afternoon. Pretty increbibly the -5 line stays over the whole country out to t-300hrs on the 6z. Nothing major but we may be in for some surprises down the line.
  16. Definitely getting less wintry out towards Donegal. Hopefully it turns to snow about 2 miles before me
  17. That was an epic band that just pushed through, proper covering again 20201227_124951.mp4
  18. Not much has followed up since the heavy snow around 7 and 8am. So there's no winter wonderland to report just yet!
