Here in Hexham this evening 2" fresh good snow all roads covered from the numerous heavy showers. temp-0.5 Who could forecast that at even 24hrs out. Conditions perfect for convection and a Tyne valley streamer. -8 uppers,-10 just of the coast, due easterly wind with a bit of North in the upper flow, bingo out of nowhere this evening a lovely snow fall not forecast. Morpeth getting hammered, Otterburn getting hammered., localised winter amazement, Does my head in sometimes reading other threds when folk are trying to forcast timings and depth 5 days out sometimes 15.
This evening in the Tyne valley totally unexpected, but great. roll on tomorrow night.
