  1. Talking of which its cleared already and peeks of some brightness.
  2. From what the bbc forecast have said yes, it will be as foggy (maybe not as thick me thinks) but clearing quicker and no fog by tues eve down here as breeze picking up.
  3. So fog and frogs means a cold winter, sounds good to me..............
  4. Well one thing is for sure it isnt going to be a record Nov 1st here. Still fog and in fact its starting to thicken up again. I was driving from local high street and thought umm its beginning to look like winter, those days where it doesnt get much above freezing In fact its actually only just reached 10c, not what was forecasted yet again..
  5. Still foggy and dull, better than gales and pouring rain. Agree with Ben what is people moan about benign weather. Sorry but even this beats gales and rain, even if it is default autumn weather. At least if the fog clears it will be really warm.
  6. First nice thick fog in a while. Remember the days when we used to get plenty of foggy days. The special ones are freezing fog, great for amazing sceneries.
  7. Yes interesting read. However it must be noted that 28th oct 2010 there is no forecast of the mega cold spell that was coming. It will be interesting after this Octobers blog to see how close their thoughts are.
  8. OK so we have lots of warm air being pushed northwards on a southerly ish type wind for some while, maybe. On the plus side is this going far enough north to aid us later this winter, or is this WAA all in the wrong places.
  9. God isnt it depressing getting so dark early now. I hate the change over to darker eves. Why the hell cant we follow the Europeans, even in the depth of winter its 5 ish before it gets dark.
  10. Its a particularly dull drizzly depressing sort of day. Also one that I doubt would give snow in the winter however cold.
  11. The same paper and people produced this in July SHOCK WARNING: Strongest El Nino in HISTORY could bring SIX MONTHS of storms to Britain Quote from July. There are signs that this year a significant El Nino is building. We think it could drive a strong jetstream which can lead to a more mobile weather pattern and very changeable and stormy weather as we head into winter." Quote in Oct. FOUR MONTHS OF HEAVY SNOW: Shock UK long-range weather forecast for THIS winter BRITAIN should prepare for the worst winter in half-a-century with advanced weather models now predicting MONTHS of heavy snowfall, forecasters warned tonight. Can someone on here please me to these models. :cc_confused:
  12. Do you have a link as I need cheering up, lol.. IN regards to Staines Melons, surely they would have well died/gone soggy by now in these temps..
  13. Just had quick look at ST Christoph, the snow has arrived.....
  14. Well I have to say its feeling very much like autumn/winter now, pretty chilly in this wind. Its when you want this weather pattern in the summer or January/Feb, but no it comes in October. Nice up north but going to be pretty crap for next week down here. Better I suppose that howling wet south westerlies, which I hate. Oh and Surrey don't panic about dryness, I am sure we will get pay back come November. Its not that unusual for this time of year to be dry.
  15. The question is how long will these average to below average months continue.
  16. Worse winter for 50 years hardly means much. Worse winter for 100/200 years sounds much better..... Didn't they run with this last week.????
  17. More cloud so far today. and the beginnings of that easterly. Where was it when we needed it during the summer. I notice that the week ahead with BBC confirms the nothing unusual for October temp and weather wise, maybe the tabloids should watch it.....
  18. I see Santa has had his first snow that I have seen there in the Arctic Circle.
  19. Lol even more funny is that in the replies at the bottom, the MO are getting the slagging off even though they are not even mentioned. There really should be a fine every time a tabloid publishes this type of crap, even the most devout Mirror/Express reader must by past this sort of rubbish.
  20. Just under 5c last night. Glorious start, long may this continue. Perfect weather. :)
  21. You could move from the coast to the mountains nearby. BUy or build a cottage up there, at least you would see plenty of snow, heavy rain, gales, white outs, pretty much anything but dull and derpressing. And if it all became to much then plenty of rocks and cliffs to jump off.??? lol.. :diablo: :wallbash:
  22. See we had the sunniest and made just under 20c yesterday, it did feel very warm. This morning cloudy and still feeling warm, soon to change I understand.
  23. Interesting to see a very mixed outlook on the MO outlook. Nothing to suggest a major zonal spell down here, so that's brilliant. Looks like we can look forward to some different October weather.
  24. Agreed Captain, however there is a large area, and even this evening and night, there seems to be a force field in the south east corner. lol...
