  1. Its been a blustery day...the radar is showing some juicy showers streaming in from the west with a little bit of cold mixed in. The temp here is showing 3.1 deg/C during the showers and the cloud temp is -2.5 deg/C so its going in the right direction, who knows we might even see a flake or two of the white stuff.
  2. Sleety pish here late on on Christmas day...sadly it came to nothing. A bit of hope for this morning but it would seem the Fife snaw shield is on full tilt...time is running out before mild damp pish returns. Good to see some have snow...great pictures as usual.
  3. Here's a little festive video of a Pyramid Christmas Tree I made for this year...its got snow in it if you don't like the tree..!!! 637005014_PyramidTreeVideo.avi
  4. I really don't understand the daft thread...they have more ups and downs than a junkie on heroin, their next weather fix is always two weeks away and when it all flips and collapses this results in a extinction level mass suicide event that even an SNP MSP can't compete with when someone finds out where they've stashed all the money. I'am just dissapointed that the Christmas period has once again been a complete let down after the forecast that offered a bit of snow over the weekend has now mild pish written all over it, I'am convinced the models are calculated on a 16K ZX-Spectrum (we won't have any of that 48K rubbish) probably after someone crashed the Cray XC40 mining bit coin. Ah the Weather you've got to love it...Merry Christmas to all and have a very good day on Sunday.
  5. A quite incredible +13 deg/C at around midday, almost t-shirt weather, with clearing skys late in the afternoon. The current conditions... Air temp +5.6 deg/C Ground temp -3.5 deg/C Cloud temp....clear sky, amazing to think just the other day the same conditions and we had a hard frost. If anyone's interested...on Sunday I took a few temperature readings of the clouds as the mild air pushed in. A huge energy displacement when you think about it...amazing stuff the weather. 09:45 -20 deg/C 13:30 -3.7 deg/C (snow started shortly after) 23:55 +2.3 deg/C
  6. Is been off here for about 45mins..we are under a big hole according to the radar. The temperature has been hovering around +1.5 - +2.0 deg/C
  7. Everyone...the snow pictures are stunning, thanks for posting them. The charts for today look marginal for snow around here but you never know we might get a flake or two, but tomorrow is showing 13 deg/C that is one hell of a temerature swing in 24hrs there's going to be a lot of water released in the melt.
  8. I had a quick peek on the mad thread...Christ they have whipped themselves up into a frenzy ( not a Firenza for all you Droop Snoot lovers out there) if/when it all flips there's going to be a bloodbath in there.
  9. The council knowing the forecast would have gritters out laying salt on the roads before the snow fell, then plough and spread salt on the main roads to keep them open, I knew a gritter driver he worked during the night to prepeare the roads for the morning commute. Several mild winters...council bean counters...cost saving less gritters...less overtime to pay vs helping people get around...no brainer what would happen.
  10. The forecast was pretty much bang on for here today...start with snow then sleety pish. But we did get some snow and it was wonderful to see everything white again...its been a long time coming. Great snow pictures again everyone...for a change I have a some too, I snapped a few first thing before it started to thaw. Dunfermline was apparently a bit of a nightmare this morning, some of the people ay work were saying the roads were very slippy, you can see in a couple of the pictures the roads are untreated these are main roads to Dunfermline...knowing Fife council the gritter drivers were probably working from home.
  11. Just playing around with some of the charts... Tomorrow...it looks like it will all be over quite quickly. WX Charts showing a very teasing forecast for Christmas Day...oh I wonder how far off it will be.
  12. I can't keep up with this thread...how do you lot find the time to post all these stunning snow pictures, but please keep posting..!!! Tomorrow looks like a mixed bag for us here, according to the Beeb weather its to start with snow showers then turn to sleety pish, the Met forecast is even worse its starting with sleety pish and turning to rain...what happened to all the cold..???
  13. Fantastic snowy pictures everyone...more of the same please. Another dry cold one today, a rise and repeat of yesterday except the thermometer hasn't risen above -4 deg/C all day. Current conditions... Air temp -2.2 deg/C Ground temp -13.7 deg/C Cloud temp clear sky off the scale
  14. Loving the snow pictures everyone...the Beeb forecast for around here was away off in fantasy land, it was showing a few hours of sleet/snow PM yesterday and not a single flake fell, however its been a bloody cold one today in the shade it remained below zero all day, a nice crisp day for putting up Christmas lights. Could this be the breakdown for the cold weather its from the 15 day tend video from the Beeb...when it comes to mild damp pish they are usually spot on. Current conditions... Air temp -2.1 deg/C Ground temp -8.8 deg/C Cloud temp - clear sky (deep space mega cold)
  15. It looks like the Beeb forecast is correct...a wee bit of sleety pish but mostly rain. Current conditions... Air Temp +2.9 degC Ground temp +0.9deg/C Cloud temp -3.4deg/C
  16. A few flakes here again, also the Beeb weather forecast is now showing sleet around 18:00, fingers crossed they have it wrong again. I don't want to follow the daft thread as that lot flip more often than a beast from the east weather forecast...but how is it looking for the run up to Christmas. And everyones snow pictures look fantasic..!!!
  17. Medium to heavy rain and 10deg/C here for the past few hours...the Beeb forecast saying its to be nice tomorrow and Monday, fingers crossed for some sunshine. A couple of days ago one of the 10 day outlook's mentioned this up coming cold spell, they did go on to say if it happens don't expect deep cold as the continent is still relatively warm, so what are the mad bunch over on the daft thread looking at.
  18. Its winter time again and here we go...the daft thread is on suicide watch for the inevitable downgrade on that stonking Dec10th run. Current weather...pishing down, except there sounds like ice hitting the windows, I just had a look outside and sure enough wee bits of ice on the doorstep. The first wintry precipitation of the season, I think we have had only one frost so far as well...here's to a long cold winter.
  19. Heavy thundery showers lined up and heading north...hopfully we get another fantastic light show.
  20. Its quite intense...a few close strikes almost instant thunder and very loud bangs...amazing to watch and hear. This spot is directly on top here...
  21. I'am watching the most beautiful light show for many years...long streaks of lightning bouncing around the clouds...deep bass of the thunder reflecting of the hills.
  22. It looks like we have had a wee flurry, the edges of the grass have a white tinge to them, fingers crossed more to come overnight. Air temp has now fallen to 0.2deg/C.
