  1. The radar has a few showers / streamers running up the Forth Valley...a lucky few might get a nice surprise.
  2. Since Friday is going to be an anticlimax for many lets have a look at Sunday AM from VXCharts...this looks much more like it, a solid six hours of snow for Scotland. However the Beeb and Met-office have this down as sleety rain and mild pish on Sunday PM...what happened to all the cold.
  3. I can't take any more of this...the forecasts have been an utter disaster, going from the whole of Scotland getting a pasting to the snow now barely reaching Edinburgh. One the best cold spells in recent years and nothing has come from it for the central belt...it almost makes you cry. Cracking pictures again everyone, nice to see the white stuff being enjoyed.
  4. What a roller coaster of a day for weather forecasts for Thursday/Friday...firstly in the morning WXCharts had Scotland buried in snow, then at lunchtime they had the snow only reaching the Forth Valley, then the Met-Office in a remarkable forecast showing snow in the central belt is now showing nothing at all. The Beeb pressure map is not doing us any favours for Friday but check out the pasting for Sunday, however the Beeb forecast is showing snow now for Thursday Friday and Saturday...I'am confused does anyone know what is the favored outcome. I'am not asking for much I just want it to snaw..!!!
  5. Yup...I noticed that as well, the Beeb are similar. The Met-Office really gets on my wick, they like to promote the weather when its warmer than usual as it goes along with their global warming agenda nonsense. From an organisation that supposedly covers all weather types that is unless a bit of cold appears...their silence is defening.
  6. If its a direct hit northerly us in the central belt will be snowless, just a little more to the east will deliver the goods with lots of nice streamers...so fingers crossed the wind direction changes. WXCharts is showing showers around the coast mostly, but as the Monday low pressure passes we might get a flake or two, but later on its showing what could be best described as a pasting for the central belt (fingers and toes crossed).
  7. Met office ten day trend...during it he mentions cold air getting mixed with moisture makes it...I'am sitting there waiting for him to say SNAW...then he said "interesting" Christ how hard is it to say its going to snow...has snow become a canceled word in these out of control times or is it the Met-office hatred for cold weather kicking in again. Anyway it would seem its going to get cold with some snow next week.
  8. First off...those pictures of the Aurora Borealis are superb, a huge thanks to all who posted them. Get the sledges out..!!! Well possibly, the met office deep dive explains there is a good percentage chance of cold getting in, but mild could be in with a shout too. Don't you just love to watch them visibly hate to say its going to get cold and snowy...it goes against all that dung they spew about climate emergency and global warming. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=04q-r4GSoTE
  9. I think our goose is cooked for this years winter...even the area of high pressure to the west of the UK isn't a cold one, this winter should be chalked up as a non event for the lower altitudes. Yesterday in the shade it felt very pleasent indeed quite spring like in fact, that little bit of warmth was just lovely, I'll take more of that please.
  10. 11 deg/C this morning...I am seriously thinking about removing my winter tyres from the motor. The daft tread has given in chasing this one, they finally gave in to there will be no cold this month. March is too late for decent cold, might as well look forward to some spring weather. However remember what's happened for the past couple of years a perfect winter set-up appeared right when we didn't want it...most unwelcome it was.
  11. A much welcome cooler day...drizzle on and off dull and damp, oh hum the extended Autumn like weather continues. The dafties on the other thread are amusingly chasing their tails again looking for the cold fallout from the SSW, it looks like that bloody high pressue which has so far ruined our winter is still clinging on like Nicola Sturgeon...oh wait what happened to her maybe there is hope after all, perhaps the dafties are on to something and if the planets all align some of the white stuff may appear on this snow desert named Fife.
  12. Great pictures as always folk's...it looks like summer weather with all that sunshine. I've been watching another of the Met-office Deep Dive's...he kept mentioning Mild Damp and I had to shout Pish each time he said it...well you have to keep yourself amused don't you. And he also confirmed a SSW will take place shortly, but would he hell put himself on the spot and mention a cold spell...only 70% chance he said, you know I think these weather forecasters revel in sayIng its going to be mild...it gets right on my .
  13. Its been decent the last couple of days...and no rain makes it all the better. I've got everything crossed the Beeb Weather has it way wrong, they are saying this manky grey weather is going to continue till the 20th possibly beyond. Saying that WX Charts is also showing precious little apart from a day or two of wintry weather two weeks away...slim chances me thinks. The Metoffice channel had another of their Deep Dive series on this evening it mentions the upcoming SSW...he would not commit to say its going to get cold..??? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Z1o9YY_-8Q
  14. Here we go...its only ten days away what could possibly go wrong. I went to wash the motor this afternood and opened the shed door and saw it sitting there I daren't touch it in case all hell broke loose with the weather, its the No1 winter killer around here...my dreaded snaw shovel, it should be renamed the anti-snaw shovel. Not that I am superstisious.
  15. Christ this weather is boring...its nearly hitting double digits and no sun, the cloud temp is +4.5deg/C there's no cold up there either. I've been trying to remember the last time we had decent snow on the ground here, I think it was 27th December...which is like forever ago.
  16. Showers wind and sunny spells this morning, the forecast is saying rain for the rest of the day, further ahead there is not even a glimer of anything cold. Speaking of cold the dafty's are chasing their tails again, they are getting excited about a mysterious wind called an Easterly which will apparently bring frigid temperatures and much snow...as usual its two weeks away, look what happened to that SSW that was inbound.
  17. Another dull mild damp day forecast for here today with a bit of pish thrown in for good measure, a bit of rain now being blown through on the wind. Tomorrow looks good though with wall to wall sunshine for the morning then sunny spells for the afternoon and a pleasant 7deg/C...it'll just be like summer..!!! Looking at the charts Nth Hemisphere H500 - https://www.netweather.tv/charts-and-data/gfs - you can see the PV centred over Canada spinning away anti-clockwise, low pressure systems being spun off it and running along the jetstream or being swallowed back up by the PV...the downside of all this going on is we the UK are totally in the wrong place to get anything cold off this pattern, untill the PV moves or a major storm blasts away all the high pressure we are mild.
  18. The forecast for here is a run of a nice few days, a bit chilly but at least its going to be dry. I had a look over in the daft thread to see what the next fantasy is they are all chasing...nothing it would seem, I did spot a post where the Azores High Pressure the dreaded UK winter killer was going to establish itself right where we don't want it bringing in very mild south west winds...oh joy nae snaw for Febuary then. I hope the growing trend of UK winters where the cold weather appears right at the end fails this year and we have at least a bit of the white stuff in March.
  19. Same here...dull, damp, mild, pish. Current conditions...a typical autumnal day. Air temp +7.2deg/C Ground temp +2.5deg/C Cloud temp +5.0deg/C I always listen to what Joe Bastardi says about the weather, his Saturday Summary on WeatherBell often mentions Europe and this week he talks about an upcoming SSW. Scroll half way down the page - https://www.weatherbell.com/
  20. Maybe my above post is related to this...its a week away, the mad thread loves this stuff..!!!
  21. I've not seen this mentioned anywhere, a glitch in the system...everthing else is pointing to mild damp pish for the forseable. And a few days later...
  22. Great snow pics again everyone...they are a blessing for us that are snow starved this winter. I've been keeping an eye on that blob of snow heading south all evening...sadly its being evaporated by the hills and mountains as it moves down...ho-hum nae snaw for us.
