Barnsley could end up with 20cm+ at this rate!
Fingers crossed.
I want deep snow, closed schools, snowmen and hot chocolate
Then spring warmth can come afterwards lol

Well metO got me down for 14 hours of heavy snow on their automated forecast thurs night into friday. I will take that!
Didn't want more cold but if its actually going to fetch some laying snow then bring it on.
Please close the schools, i want a long weekend with the kids, in some snow!

Beautiful blue skies and sun here this morning.
Was some snow on the ground but that's quickly disappearing.
I love snow and normally winter but im ready for spring now, we haven't had a decent snow event in actual winter i dont want a pathetic attempt in march lol.
The cost of gas is a joke right now, nearly a tenner a day to keep house warm on a morning and evening! Bring on spring warmth. Sick of the cold and empty pockets.

Extremely light snow here at the moment.
-
Light rain here at the mo.
Thankfully not the freezing kind

Snap! Same here all the house been badly for ages now can't shift it.

I dont know about anyone else but with the lack of snow im now ready for a milder spell of weather.
Its been pretty to look at though and better than constantly being mild and miserable.
Think we need a reset and hopefully be back to snow chasing really soon.
Need to go and unfreeze the top of our pond as through the night it iced over lol.

Yay we have a covering and its very lightly trying to snow lol.
Nice to wake up to when feeling rough from drowning my sorrows after the game last night

I must be getting old because I would now prefer mild 10c days in winter than 0c with no snow.
Think im the same now, if we cant have snow, it needs to be warmer

Gonna sound miserable here but what a boring cold spell, I need some proper snow
I agree. The cold is boring without snow. It makes the cold just seem pointless and a lot less enjoyable

Back for another winter and im already hooked! Although the mod thread is becoming slightly misleading with the southern bias to posts...think i will stick with just checking in on here.
Fingers crossed for some snow chances over the next week though.

Also the yellow warning is just for wind, not for wind and rain??
Its horrendous out there! Flooding, damage all sorts.
But we aren't southerners so it doesn't matter does it lol. If this was in london right now there would be red warnings left right and centre

We know that, hows the weather?
21 minutes ago, Scott Ingham said:Rotherham town centre now flooded. Main street centenary way, tescos area next full of businesses. How were Rotherham outside a yellow warning AND how was it only a yellow and not amber when businesses have flood damage? Seems they only care if its the south. Its an absolute joke tbh how southern centric the warnings are.
Also with completely saturated grounds 60mph winds could uproot a lot of trees tonight.
Again. Yellow warning? Yellow.....
Its because we are northerners and just need a big coat on!

Fgs whats with all the bickering and biting at eachother, its the weather, it differs depending on where your location is, just like peoples opinions differ too!
Yes the storm is bad in the south, but it isn't in the North (yet, if at all) but that doesn't mean people aren't allowed an opinion or to make an observation from where they are located in the country.
Worse than a playground on here sometimes!

Between 2 and 4 is the peak. 60-80mph for the southern half of the region hitting closer to the bottom end. Lincolnshire looks nasty and possibly south yorkshire if the models are 40 miles out with possible sting jet formation. North yorkshire a strong gale 50-60mph widely
No thanks!
Honestly i thought here in south yorks we were going to miss damaging winds especially with us only being under a yellow warning (well my area is anyways)
It can stay away, really dont want the strong gusts.

So does it look like we are in no mans land today? Missing the worst of the wind (thankfully) but no snow either?
I had some snow symbols showing that have now all gone

Well what an awful morning to wake up to. Rain and actually gustier than i expected it being at this time.

It does on that one, the one i saw it looked further north.
Im pleased its on track and not further north, i dont want stronger winds.
1 minute ago, Harsh Climate said:Me too. Disappointing as 90% of the time these storms end up further south, the one time that would benefit us it ends up further north..
Yeah sods law!
