Oh my goodness, that is scary Lauren. So glad you are okay physically. Pretty shaken though, I'm sure. -

Well that's the last of the relatives gone. This Christmas seems to have lasted all week. Loads of food left over though. AS sorry to hear about your tree, I hope he survives the storms. CK, sorry to hear about your neighbour too. Someone you have known for so long will leave a hole even if they aren't family. You know when quiet nondescript weather was really boring? Well I'd really welcome some right now. -

I've just seen the pic, it wasn't there the first time I looked. She's a gorgeous little babby. -

Morning all! It is a little breezy here too. Currently 9.4c and raining in the wind. Moderate breeze with winds gusting between 30-35mph according to nearest weather station. When I went out to walk the dog there was litter strewn everywhere down our road as it's bin day here too. But on my return it had disappeared...bins not emptied though. So we have rubbish fairies, we are so lucky. -

Have you got the right specs on Chris that makes a hell of a difference. I'm disappointed in the lack of snow on the horizon. I was happy to go without snow this month in the hopes of a wintry New Year. Godammit, after recent years, it feels very late coming. -

Morning all. We've another tree down over here. May have been weakened by the Xmas Eve storm. Otherwise it's not too bad here this morning. Hope everyone else is safe with no damage. -

Morning all! It's sunny and calm here this morning and a comfortable 6.5c I'm keeping an eye on the weather over this weekend. I need to visit family in Ware tomorrow, then my sister is coming up from Dover on Saturday and we'll be going to my brother's house in Enfield then. I hope that whatever arrives tomorrow is not too severe especially for those already affected. As for shopping, I don't think I need to go food shopping for another month. I have so much left over. I'm only gonna to need milk for my cuppas like Jax. Stay safe everyone and have a lovely Boxing Day. Edit: I got Day of the Doctor and Adventures in Time and Space for Christmas, so I was a very happy bunny. -

Been out this morning and the worst damage here is just one tree down luckily and a few branches. The duck pond is at it's highest and due to overflow onto the footpath should anymore rain arrive. Just got a bit of cleaning to do and then I'm all ready for Christmas. -

Morning all. We appear to be undamaged here, although I'm yet to venture out. Reading back on the posts, it seems the peak was around 1am. I went to bed at 11pm and slept through the lot. I hope everyone has come through this unscathed. Happy Christmas Eve to you all! -

According to the weather station nearest to me, wind speed is currently around 20mph with 35-40mph gusts, so not that bad here. I believe the St Jude storm was stronger, though not as long lasting. Barometer currently reads 977 hPa Going to take myself off to bed and get some sleep. Sleep through anything me. Stay safe everyone and I hope the damage isn't to great in the morning.- 1,154 replies

I'm home from my errands thankfully, but it is awful out there. The A1M was closed between Welwyn Garden City and Hertford so a lot of traffic came off at Stevenage and brought the town to a halt. Took ages to get anywhere. Managed to deliver all pressies and complete the last minute food shop, only to return home and have an intense battle with my garden gate. The garden gate won unfortunately. Trying to hold it open with my right hand, the wind ripped it from me, then promptly slammed it back on my right wrist. It's wrapped in a bag of peas at the moment and turning all manner of pretty colours. It hurts like hell too. I hope that's the most damage done this evening. Stay safe everyone, it's raucous out there.- 1,154 replies

Morning all! Happy Birthday to BB for yesterday. I hate missing birthdays, we need a birthday calendar here. I'm off to do the last lot of friends and relative visiting then followed by my last food shop before Christmas. Hoping to get it all done by 3pm this afternoon. Have a good day all and stay safe.- 1,154 replies

Thanks for those Coast and thank you too John for the updates when you can. I am sure like many I have various errands to run and a last minute shop to arrange before the big day. I now plan to do everything before tomorrow evening so that I am safe at home before the storm hits. The information here is invaluable to us and our friends and family.- 767 replies

Yuck! I feel ill looking at those, without the hangover to boot. Just been out to the local shop (it's a local shop for local people ) and it was nasty weather. Taking the dawg to the groomers at 2pm, and I don't think I'll be walking her there and back this time, would kinda defeat the object. Plus I don't want to miss too much of the showjumping if I can help it. The weather is a good alternative excuse to drive the 1.5 miles rather than walk it. Also going to watch Frozen later this evening which I'm looking forward to. A busy but nice day.- 767 replies

I hope not, because it would be very unstable if it was rain related. My thoughts are with all at the theatre.- 767 replies

I'm just watching the news and am shocked to hear about the roof collapsing at the Apollo Theatre in London. i'm so glad that it's dry and calm there weather wise. Would not want to see them dealing with this in the weather we had earlier.- 767 replies
