  1. You will need the Infra Red on soon as it's going dark, so have a look here: http://www.sat24.com/?ir=true Kudos to any model that predicted the PL - I have not seen one do so before.
  2. Have a look here: http://www.weatheronline.co.uk/reports/wxfacts/The-Polar-low---the-arctic-hurricane.htm
  3. 100% is. Watch the formation here Darren. http://www.yr.no/satellitt/europa_animasjon.html Lovely.
  4. No, the current one. Not the image. watch the animation.
  5. HC, it's a Polar Low. http://www.yr.no/satellitt/europa_animasjon.html Watch it develop and wrap. This isn't a normal LP System. Let's hope it keeps wrapping.
  6. Thing of beauty... You can see it develop, 100% a Polar Low. http://www.yr.no/satellitt/europa_animasjon.html
  7. It isn't at all. This is an example: It;s perfect size.
  8. Generally a now cast yes, so if any model has picked it up, it's more likely to be just a LP system, as they are so hard to predict, and usually only see them on Sat Pics.
  9. Well I thought it was a PL at first, then someone pointed out it wasnt, but now Chiono thinks it is, so I'm getting a tad excited as these can be excellent for snow fall, but in a lot of cases they don't even make it because they die out quickly. Moisture suckers, snow dumpers.
  10. It might not be a Polar Low, but if it was, prepare the shovels. It's also known as the "Arctic Hurricane" - albeit a little dramatic, usually short lived, can travel down either side of the country, you generally can't forecast them, but if one does form, it sucks up a ton of moisture, and generally dumps it over us, giving lots of snow, or rain. Have a read: http://weatherfaqs.org.uk/node/95
  11. It's just a LP System. Looks more intense than forecast, but it's was show.
  12. You can see the development of quite an intense & large streamer setting up on the latest radar, stretching from just NW IOM to NW Scotland... Tracking the path, it looks like heading for the Cheshire Gap / Runcorn way. That's some dumping... Ties in with the NMM too and Euro4. Nice Stephen, Good editing !
  13. Eh? He's on this side of the Pennines, clearly knows the North West Thread is the best one around, and i'm glad he's here, gives me good snow updates for my trips! It's going to get Dark...
  14. Thats lovely, keep them coming Snow Joke. I'm heading up their this weekend with the dog, hopefully still be around. P.S - Surely you own a 4x4 lol ?
  15. Yes, it's a LP system, not a polar low - I thought that before.
  16. I don't see it forecasted on the charts and they are the latest FAX.... You can't really forecast a Polar Low anyways... Lets see.
