Heaviest snow of the cold spell so far in Garforth - blue skies and sunshine 10 mins ago, now packing it in blown through on strongish winds. Lovely to see! Made my day.

Starting to snow here in Garforth, East of Leeds now. Fine but blowing around in a very strong, blustery wind.

Light snow in Pudsey, west of Leeds.

Snowing quite heavily here now on Pudsey but not expecting it to last long.

Wow. Woken up to a white out. Hard to see where the road and walls meet. The wind has blown drifts up the side of four feet dry stone walls and you can just see the tops! The garden is a swirl of drifts and snow. I had a stone bench in the garden and it is buried. I have not seen snow like this since I was a child. Even 2010 was not as dramatic as this with the drifts. AND it is still snowing heavily and the wind is still blowing. What a day ahead. Love it. It has just made this Winter a classic.

No. In the old houses facing post hill and with perfect views of any snow coming from.....the East. So I should be happy choppy tonight.

Very first light flakes here in Pudsey. Bang on cue!!

Driving through it tonight I was convinced it was rain for a while. It reflected and glistened just like fine rain. It was magical. A few cm here in Pudsey. Nothing spectacular but everything looks so pretty when in snows, however much. More to come?

Heavier now here in Pudsey. Settling on grass, cars and paths but not roads. How long will this keep up for? Looking forward to tomorrow. Wets the appetite.

Been snowing here in Pudsey for 20 minutes or so. Only at 100m - settling on cars and edges of road but not settling on paths and roads yet but a better start than I (and two giddy kids) had expected!!

B) First snowflakes just appeared outskirts of Leeds. @90ASL. Light and blowing in the wind but definately snow!! Not sleet or wet or freezing rain - SNOW.
