  2. Tops of the surrounding mountains here in Maesteg (200 to 400m) were covered with snow this morning, now melted in the sunshine. Just been for a quick journey to the higher elevations in the surrounding valleys, e.g. Croeserw, Blaengwynfi, Abergwynfi - to the summit of the Bwlch mountain at 754m. Snow is knee high there, and roads are only just passable and are additionally very icy. Strong wind whipping up lying snow. Actually jumped onto the grass, not realising how deep the snow was, and it came knee high. A winter wonderland most certainly !!!!
  3. 3 more major storms overnight.. The worst being at around midnight - I've never seen anything like it before. The wind was howling, the hail was sweeping across the street, absolutely battering everything. Thunder was booming and lightning went awol.
  4. More flahes of lightning and rumbles of thunder, no rain yet.

  6. Yet another truly amazing and spectacular performance by Mother Nature... Deafening claps of thunder, countless flashes of lightning - flickering lights. Absolutely torrential hail!! Car alarms were going mad. :shock: :shock: :shock: :shock: :shock:
  7. A fantastic storm here, lasting 20 minutes... Torrential rain and massive hailstones, a real deluge. Several flashes of lightning and almighty claps of thunder. Electricity was going awol!
  8. Another few rumbles, accompanied by fairly heavy rain, and mini-hailstones.
  9. Good rumbles of thunder coming through now - clouds are black. Awaiting a nasty downpour.
  10. Thunder and lightning continued until 1.45ish...... Very loud indeed.
  11. Good god alive the action is really kicking off her in South Wales........ Numerous powercuts already. Torrential rain. Thunder you wouldn't dream of and countless flashes of lightning.
  12. Very heavy showers at the moment - almighty rumbles of thunder with lightning.
  13. A very wet night indeed. Heavy, and at times torrential rain around midnight onwards. This morning; Cloudy, showers threatening. Some brightness. 18 degrees.
  14. 19 degrees, rather breezy. Cloudy, and raining. Becoming heavier.
  15. High of 23 this afternoon. A gorgeous Summer's day - a good deal of sunshine, much the same as jackfrost's report above. On an additional note; many congratulations on the new arrival Paul Gulliver.
  16. Good sunny spells and variable amounts of clouds - a fair deal of convection taking place. 22 degrees.. Showers are promised later.
  17. Another beautiful start to the day - lots of sunshine, patcy cirrus clouds. 16.6 C
  18. An unusual morning - overcast and fairly dull on the hills, but good sunny spells away from them. Feeling a little fresher today.
  19. Heavy rain last night with a few flashes of lightning.
  20. Raining moderately here, with gusty winds. The main frontal system is yet to reach me, however. Muggy at 20.1 degrees.
  21. Cloudy. Picking to rain, with increasing winds from the Southeast. Muggy, uncomfortable at 21 degrees.
