  8. Well yesterday was quite an event for a narrow slither of south Essex from Southend, Hockley, Rayleigh and parts of Castle Point. My post yesterday was rather prophetic. The intense tropical rain just kept coming. People in Chelmsford can't understand what the fuss was about which just goes to show how localised these severe rainfall events can be!
  9. It is amazing isnt it. I walked over the underpass shortly before its closure and people london bound were trying to squeeze through a river that was the underpass. Crazy
  10. Blimey! Always used to be a trouble spot during heavy rain until they did the drains. Not sufficient to cope with today's deluge. Traffic lights look like they gave up the ghost early!
  11. It is crazy and I suspect no-one else apart from a couple on here will believe you!!
  12. Well just got back from venturing out (needs must) and my word what a ridiculous amount of rain in the Rayleigh/Thundersley area. Rayleigh Weir underpass closed and the roundabout just passable. The back garden has flooded areas. Looking at the rainfall radar we've been stuck under the oscillating heavy rain mass all day as a thin slither so I can well understand everyone's elses surprise as to mine and Danny's reports today. Quite amazing really. EDIT and here we go again another blob of intense rainfall!
  13. Umpteenth round of torrential rain here in Thundersley south Essex again!
  14. I can well believe that. Looking ominous again eastwards. very dark
  15. According to the radar abit of a streamer has established. think this part of essex will see some flooding after that lot has gone through
  16. Absolutely tipping down here again in Thundersley south Essex
  17. Torrential rain for about 30mins here in south essex. now eased.
  18. Should defo been a Red warning for areas of NW England. The M6 J26/7 is carnage.
  19. This isn't good at M6 J26/7. A complete mess. http://www.trafficengland.com/trafficcamera.aspx?cameraUri=http://public.hanet.org.uk/cctvpublicaccess/html/37277.html
