We have about 1cm here which is not bad for the coast, was expecting more rain/sleety stuff but temp dropped enough. Everywhere looks pretty again, bit iffy walking, since still ice under the snow from last week.
Certainly an event to remember for my location. We have had 5 days of lying snow/ice this last week with temps dropping to -9c and also 3 ice days which is something not seen for around 15 years or so.
I'm near the coast and we reached -8 last night and it's still -2.3c here now. Got to be a record for my location, no postal deliveries since Monday and Schools are closed since we have over an inch of solid ice and snow covering paths and roads.
Because i'm at sea level near the coast, we very rarely get a good fall like this. Still snowing but seems to be a bit wet since ive just tryed to make a snowman with the little one, and it took forever lol
Snow nearly melted here now after a good dusting overnight, my outside temp is showing 8c from 0.9c about 2 hours ago. Not sure if that is correct but we do have a westerly wind again blowing warm air off the irish sea.
Now the warm front has passed the temps gone from 3.8c to 0.8c and dropping. Hopefully some more showers should make it over the irish sea and give us another covering later tonight.
Just got back from Denbigh Moors and it is bad up their, still a good 8 inches on the ground and the snow on the ground is like powder which is drifting all over the roads in the wind.
Quite heavy here now with a good covering, not seen anything like this for many years near the coast this early in the evening anyway. Reminds me of living in stoke-on-trent.
