  1. I was very lucky to get some amazing photos of the storm, and then later that night we had a second storm and the lightning was immense... Camber Sands Wind Turbines: It was a long night and finally got to bed at about 5.30am lol - WORTH IT! More Piccys here: http://s1299.photobucket.com/user/razorfagg/slideshow/
  2. Hey Guys, I appreciate these are a tad late and not sure if this is the right place to post, but kept forgetting to upload them. Both videos are from the Imported MCS that hit the Sussex & Kent coast on 18th July 2014. The first video is of the storm approaching and structure. The second is after I was hit by the initial gust front and nearly lost my tripod across the road, I then ran for cover and started recording once I got into my car which was hidden behind the sea wall/bank. After the storm passed through I found several trees down and lots of large branches / parts of trees in the road. Unfortunately I did not have anything with me to measure the wind speeds at the time (rectified that now). I took a lot of photos, it was a beautiful storm
  3. Im no expert in these things, but I am thinking the main concern will be the rainfall totals over a wide area, and the possibility of severe thunderstorms after the initial warm front passes through, as it will leave a large amount of moisture and energy in the atmosphere which will be convective in nature, that will then be undercut by the cold front causing further large rainfall amounts. Im not sure if 'Bertha' will deepen much further as it will shortly be over land and losing energy. Feel free to correct me if im wrong
  4. Right, im off to bed as things have now calmed down in Kent. Probably some of the best storms we have had in a while, lots of pictures and video taken. Hopefully the rest of the UK will get to join the fun today
  5. I was thinking Folkestone, but Might head to Hastings as it looks like it is shifting N to NNE slightly...
  6. I currently live in Ashford, Kent. Very closely watching the developments in France. Will be re-positioning myself to the hills above the channel tunnel in Folkestone soon with my D90, 3 fully charged battieries, 2 memory cards and tripod. Fingers crossed it continues heading this way
