  1. Zak M Looks like we were looking at the same thing from different positions, same as last year! It was right by a big curtain of rain too, so looks like a match.
  2. A storm passing the south end of Milton Keynes birthed a weak funnel cloud, lasting for a few minutes just before 5pm. Rotation in the cloud leading up to it was very evident!
  3. Watched 2 heavy showers develop around the edge of Milton Keynes this evening. All in the same cloud but luckily didn't get a drop on me from the spot I was under! Seriously ominous base on the one out to the west which really looked like it was going to drop something at one point. Did look like there may have been a weak funnel at the tail end of it though, only last about 20/30 seconds.
  4. Pretty good whale's mouth formation over Milton Keynes about 10 minutes ago but thunder fizzled out on arrival.
  5. All very quiet in Milton Keynes but it does look seriously mean through the haze off to the south.
  6. Just had what appeared to be another weak funnel cloud, seen for a few minutes to the east of Milton Keynes.
  7. Awesome Awesome, looking at my camera my pics were taken at about 13.30. I was stood near the southern edge of the city but it was more towards the northeast end...so guess it would depend on where you are in Beds really.
  8. This looked a bit interesting! Caught my eye towards the north end of Milton Keynes about 20 mins ago. Fizzled out very fast.
  9. Another pretty quiet evening here in MK but did score an awesome Horseshoe Vortex spinning for about 8 minutes out to the west!
  10. Some pics of the storm that hit Milton Keynes at around 4pm today. Surprisingly didn't notice any thunder or lightning from this one but it sure was looking quite mean as it got closer and closer with what looked like a wall cloud as part of it a few miles off to the south too (2nd image).
  11. It has been a painfully underwhelming year for storms in MK so far this year and it looks like the one to the east at the moment could miss us, surprise surprise. That said, can't rule it out getting bigger as it moves...Cautiously optimistic.
  12. Was contemplating an evening walk but things are starting to look interesting here. Quite rapid build-up of activity spawning to the east of North Bucks...
  13. Hmm, what time was this Zak? I got something that looked quite similar to your image at around 7.40pm as the cell moved north away from Milton Keynes. Formed very quickly and did appear to be rotating but didn't last long.
  14. Anyone see the clouds south of Milton Keynes about an hour ago? Wall cloud sort of structure seemed to be trying really, really hard to make something along its edge. Looked like there may have been a very, very weak funnel at one point (2nd and 3rd pics).
  15. Looks like I didn't miss much in Milton Keynes overnight then? Camera is primed for today...
  16. Had intended to post this when I took it on the 6th. Probably just another scud but this did look for about 20/30 seconds like a very weak funnel over MK. I seem to get one or two that I have to double take or ask about every year. Very eager to see what this week brings.
  17. A fairly overcast afternoon here in MK. Pleasant breeze. Feels more like late September!
  18. High Wycombe cell is looking stunning from MK. Bubbled up much taller in the last half an hour and now starting to get a wispy anvil.
  19. A surprisingly average day in MK so far, despite the temperatures! Storm that came through this morning struggled to produce any lightning and mostly clear skies since then. It's got quite interesting in the past half an hour though. Getting a lot darker to the south!
  20. Great view of the cell between Milton Keynes and Cambridge at the moment. The anvil has been growing nicely with a lot of pileus over the past half an hour or so. The base was just about visible with a possible shelf cloud, although way too hazy for clear shots.
  21. I'm actually quite surprised by how "plain" the weather has been today here, given how much activity there's been just to the south! Hopefully there's a good chance for Bucks tonight. Would love another crack at overnight lightning shots.
  22. Surprisingly overcast and calm here, with a little bit of rain. The haze has really kept these storms hidden over the past few days...until they've been right overhead!
  23. Certainly not as much like The Day After Tomorrow as last night was but there has been some awesome developments off to the east. Didn't seem to be a very lively cell but it certainly bubbled up fast and was a monster compared to most of the cells I'm used to seeing here.
