  1. well this exciting stuff, haha, I keep hitting the refresh button on the ECM 216h chart, come on 240 keep th ecold coming. its great to sit back and watch the models work out, or try to work out where we are heading, longcold spell hopefully. just need that low out NE to come down the North Sea and hit us full on. Keep up the great work fellow posters
  2. I did'nt realise that, so its going to be an unique situation, definately one to watch carefully, an dlearn from. thanks for update
  3. yep snap, temps hovering about 1c, side roads covered getting trickey for a bit.
  4. radar looks good, possible some heavy snow on the way, Met office change their forecast about 1 hour ago from nothing to heavy snow so always a good sign when they change it so late. Hope the higher parts of Peak District dont suck the life out of the ppn
  5. well fab stuff, such dangerous conditions. just for context, attached are a few vids from the Derbyshire Blizzard looks Like March 2018 !!!!!!!!!!!! full on dangerous conditions, I popped outside the car to vid, wow afte r30 seconds I had enough, the wind chill was mad. If they have loaded ok, my daughters comments were classic, we came across these lads quad biking in it !!!!! i thought at first they may need help, she shouts out theres no room in the car hahaha, talk about self preservation. 300metres asl Beeley Moor Derbys , about 10 min drive from my house, good stuff to wittness I hope those in the USA storm keep safe VID_20180301_141831809.mp4 VID_20180301_141725717.mp4 VID_20180301_142701108.mp4
  6. completely wrong, you obviously do not live in the Peak District, and I only live on the edge at 200mtrs, Family only 3 miles away have temps still at 3.2c, here it still only 3.9c , so up in the Peaks it will be lower. reports of double digits are way off !!. Flashing up some cherry picked charts do not reflect real time data from the ground. Most media outputs were singing a rapid warm up, through Sunday ?? Charts are charts and there there only as good as the person that posts them. Visit the area to experience the real weather first before you quote a computer models that cannot even get the next 72 hours correct.
  7. i would concur, its just reached 3.6c here not the double figs that may have been projected.
  8. same here as many of other reports, radar says we have been under snow for over 3 hours, only seen several flakes, BUT, they have been proper snowflakes still below 0c just, plenty of ice and frost, on the ground, that have been here for 11 days !! but alas no snow.
  9. another fab hot sunny day here, solar panels are just unreal at moment, off the scale. booked a day of work, and been enjoying some downtime, I mean I have been sat in the garden doing nothing !, thought I would be ok in the shade of a parasol but even in the shade after 15 mins I have popped back inside for a cool down, haha. Even swopped my favourite stout ale for an ice cold Estrella !!! its been a great summers week, and we have a few more days of it to go. enyoy it if you love the heat, Im sure we will have plenty of fun chasing the winter weather in a few months but for now, its great. Not even to bothered about temps, after a few weeks ago and the unreal 40c stuff, this is just pure enjoyment for me, although I suspect football tomorrow will be challenging, and I'm just a spectator. Hope all Midlanders have a fab weekend
  10. 8 miles due west of it and its baking hot, quite a breeze as well, more like a hairdryer
  11. good on yea, Iv just had baked beans on toast, and a large glass of cold milk, sat indoors haha
  12. similar here, although its 25c in living room, North facing, not shut the curtains on the South side so heat must be filtering through ? also the first time in any hot spell we have kept windows, and doors shut, so inside is alot more bearable at present
  13. light cloud at 7.00 walking dogs but now wall to wall sunshine and it feels hot already at 9.30 temp in the hall which faces North is 77c ! it feels boiling hot outside
  14. some of these predicted temps are a worry, especially the min night time, London at 28c midnight, never mind 40 to possible 42 in Leeds. i have been in temps of 46c Southern Turkey its hot, so we retreated to to ice cold air con hotel for a few hours. Egypt 48c same again just retreated to the hotel from 11am to 3pm sometimes 4pm. but in good old blighty I'm not sure we have too many air conditions places to retreat to. took a bus to Nama Bay (air con) when we arrived at 9pm hit the streets oh boy 104f no where to hide, we were a party of 4 and 3 of us felt ill just strolling around, a bit nauseas so everyone please take care and we were well hydrated.
  15. just checking radar, plenty more heavy showers coming this way, hope they hold up. meteoradar 3 hour forecast shows us under or close to a steamer for at least next 3 hours
  16. vid of this mornings quick snow shower, 6 more since VID_20220331_080714064.mp4
  17. You been unlucky, we have had at least 6 heavy snow showers, 3 were white outs and covered grass, hills, cars, a few more incoming tonight. Gritters have been out, and we are just in a yellow warning area, more heavy snow at 8pm
  18. That will be the one that just hit this area, fun to watch, just appeared out of no where, hope we have alot more today
  19. River Derwent's high through Matlock, burst its banks in numerous places, and has been flooding the fields for several hours. currently 2.94m due to hit 4.45m around midnight. Normal range is half that !! very high when you consider flood alerts to properties were set at 2.9m past that now. Just hope it does not flood the town again
  20. just in the yellow haha, but its more of a hill event more due Sunday and Monday (snow)
  21. just started to snow in Middleton (by Wirksworth) family are out enjoying it.
