  1. sure is looking good for theses parts. The snow that fell here Monday night has not thawed in the shade, front garden, driveway still 90% cover, but only a thin cover, haha, just shows how cold this spell has been.
  2. wow, it definately is on this run, astonishing, fab watching it all unfold, and only 01 Dec, that cold 850s out East just wants to filter back across old Blighty, haha. and as others have said the NH profile is just unreal for 1st day of winter.
  3. with all the char about snow / elevation , I use this web site to check out areas close by, really easy to use. Elevation Finder WWW.FREEMAPTOOLS.COM Find an estimate for the elevation of a point on the earth
  4. well this was Nov 28th in 2021 So hopefully we have a repeat this weekend, last night was just a light dusting
  5. yep we could jus walked back home at 11pm its hammering down, river was already high, lot smore o come,
  6. This is a prudent comment, the ground around hers is so saturted, i drove from Matlock to Sheff on Thursday via Baslow over the Moors is was wet and soggy up there Weds pm so now its just unreal, if the rainfall charts pan out as suggested theres going to be some worrying news over the next 48 hours for South Yorks and North derbys.

  8. Looking rough around here for floods if the predictions from met office are anywhere near right, the river derwent was already high locally for the last few day, been on the fields tonight for a dog walk, and yep there are the boggist (if thats a word) that I can remember since the last floods. Also the derwent has been predicted locally to hit levels not seen here since the mega floods of 1965 !!!!! if its anywhere near that we are in trouble. I feel for the local farmers, in the last floods here didnt move his bales, so we had over 100 bales floating down the river, when the floods subsided it left bales 15 to 20 feet up in the river, at filed height they were above my head !! He has been moving them to the farm over the last 3 to 4 years but yesterday there were over 200 bales stacke din the fields.
  9. whey hey, lighting and thunder has landed here now, been a good summer here so far for storms
  10. getting closer here too, no rain, ot thunder yet haha, wont be long though, hope it dosent damage the tomatoes.
  11. different skies, one looking south east the other south west, haha
  12. looking good again for some storm action, radar has plenty of stuff heading this way. after a very satisfying afternoon watching cricket, may have some storms to watch now,
  13. same here, although loud thunder most likley woke me, haha, some fabs cgs, and overhead thunder, direct hit here, awarsome
  14. holy molelly looks like a direct hit for storms is on the cards.
  15. great event Weds, Thurs, Friday, only really got going here Thursday evening in to Friday morning, but when it did it was pretty good. Some treacherous condition this morning around here. Drifts were over 6 feet, only just saw the car snowed in. second vid - like tractor plough across the junction clearing the lane. VID_20230310_082331399.mp4 VID_20230310_083237910.mp4
  16. heavest snow of the morning now, family report 22cm in Middleton. (310mts) and its due to snow all afternoon, and the evening. Here its only 7cm, but still snowing
  17. and so it begins, 24hs snowfest here, haha, great start to the morning, hope we get at least 15 to 20cm, but would settle for 40cm.
  18. Hooray, in the Orange Zone, looking for 30 to 40cms here, just warned my family, they live at 300mtrs, it was looking white over in the fields there about an hour ago
  19. hope so, living in North Derbys at 180mtrs should be ok. Historically these events due produce the fabled white gold, haha. Radar watching is the key, so I am hoping to see large echoes of ppn sweeping in from the South West bumping in cold air
  20. and as I typed it refreshed, is that a Battle ground snow event approaching from the SW, come on
