  1. Can hear thunder in the distance, and a few specks of rain...
  2. Yes im in Worthing town and was watching all the strikes over Sompting on the map. There was so much rain and hail!
  3. Just had a little storm pass over, raining so hard you couldn't see out the window, distant rumbles turning into peeling thunder, some quite bright flashes that my oh said he saw over the back of our house, seems to be brightening up again no....heart rate returning to normal *touches wood*
  4. Actually gutted...took kids to legoland august bank holiday last year and it rained the entire day and we're off to Chessington for 2 days on Thursday and the forecast is rain all day Friday! Ahhhh
  5. I am sweltering is that really only the humidity, I feel like I'm breathing in steam!
  6. It's gunna be like the apocalypse here tonight, I base that on the scientific analysis of the forecasters dodging my location and everyone in the West getting excited and gagging for a monster storm and I'm sitting here begging the Lord to let it dodge me. That means it's coming for me on the South East coast, probably at 9pm when I have to walk home from work, and with my luck, u guys can take that as gospel haha!
  7. I'll rent you my loft conversion with velux windows for the night if you like, clear views over the downs where the storms kick off once they've been swept in off the sea, a view wasted on me, I'm pretified. Might sedate myself tomorrow!!
  8. Oh cool I'm near town, what weather station do you use? Shoreham weather station is saying 21.3
  9. Looks like its broken up on the radar! I'm glad it's clouded over I can feel my house cooling down, where in worthing are u?
  10. Clouding over quite a bit, I'm indoors though so can't see towards the sea
  11. My poor man is working on a roof in amering today! Feel really sorry for him!
  12. I only say it coz usually when this happens every moans about the 'crud' leftover means there's less surface heating to trigger the storms! This humidity though! I hate storms but of its gunna clear the air then go for it! Ugh, dreading tomorrow
  13. At the risk of seeming dumb, will the fact that there are storms breaking out in areas which were supposed to have a clear night inhibit any storms/extreme weather that has been forecast for the rest of the week? Or is it irrelevant in these plumes?
  14. Thanks for the efforts of reassurance but until it's Xmas and we're all moaning about the lack of snow, I will be prepared for it to thunder and any given time! I'm off to hide!
  15. Hhmmm, are you sure? And I certainly don't think that's it for the year haha! The BBC forecast I just watched has us waking up to storms on Thursday!
  16. Im praying for no storms too! Currently trying to hold in a panic attack after tomp456s post...waaaahhhh!
  17. Thanks for clearing that up! I've decided I'm not leaving the house, apart from to work for the rest of the week, hate humid heat and hate storms!
  18. My local weather station is saying the current temp is 18.9 degrees but I could swear its about 25! Also could someone tell me what the heat index is? Coz it says it's 22.6, is it like the 'feels like' temp?
  19. What are we looking at in terms of night time temperatures? I cant stand hot weather and am worrying how my toddlers going to cope too, off to buy lots of ice pops I think!
  20. Yes I saw they ate further West Wednesday into Thursday with more widespread potential Friday, so maybe I throw up Wednesday night meaning I have to be clear 48h hours before my return! Not looking forward to the heat either, really enjoyed the weather this week it's been lovely but I think 27 degrees is my limit. Hot nights as well urgh! G
  21. Yes I have been lucky so far! The most I've had is a couple of heavy hail showered this year! Yes I'm dreading next week, as I now work evenings too, so I think I am going to haven't pull a sickie! Have woken up to blue sky's and it's hot already!
