As this thread is quiet and people are feeling somewhat perplexed, how about 'how to start and watch an avalanche':

I was here on snow watch for the fantastic streamer event that dumped 6 inches of snow. One of our members phoned up the met office and asked why we didn't have a red warning and they said 'it will be red very soon' she then told us here and it was just great.

What do people think about the 'possible' easterly showing up at end of next week ?
Likely to disappear on the next run ?

Woke up to no snow here (apart from tiny dusting on car), saw reports in the regional thread and headed straight out. This time ive got a decent conversion out of youtube so it can be watched full hd - fullscreen, I couldn't find any suitable music so just grabbed a track off freeplay, which is a tad short.

Some areas near me have over an inch of snow. Some cars driving past me had even more on their roofs.
-
Some of these snowfalls have been very localised by the sound of things, we have pretty much nothing here but its a winter wonderland just 4 miles away !

Thanks Hammer, ive just taken a drive to high wych and its fascinating what a tiny difference in elevation can do, yep 1-2 cms of lying snow, all fields and trees are white.
-
Hi Hammer, how much lying snow have you got ? If you don't mind me asking
-

Well its nice but not exactly noteworthy, hopefully I will wake up to find that the polar low delivered big time. night all, have fun

We should have a vote...
All in favor of the polar low to deliver tonight say "YEAHHHHHH"
All that don't say "nahhhhh"
Lol
Interesting night to come
Thanks, I now know that the polar low is on its way tonight. Asked a few times but obviously not seen or maybe a load of members have me on the ignore list, woops
-
Daniel, what do you think about possible timings of the polar low for us, and what might happen ?
I am very excited about this.
-
Can someone more clued up than me give some possible timings etc on the low / polar low feature and what it 'might' do. Thanks
