  1. From the meto: "Inland gusts may locally exceed 60 mph close to the squally cold front" Woohoo p.s. can we have a new smiley of a tree bending over double.
  2. Lets not forget theres an early heads up for possible convective / tornadic events ! On thursday. Meto due to check their warnings in about an hour.....................
  3. Lol, finding the right woman, my ex would certainly have a comment or three on that ! Yeah i know, rollercoaster madness, ive done it before and will undoubtedly do it all again. Great news though, early heads up on ukww about 'possible' convective activity thursday in the south. I shall be checking into that thread later on with great interest !
  4. Not looking forward to my........... I demand an upgrade !!!!
  5. The met office simply dont agree with some of those charts, obviously i hope the meto are wrong. Im going by the wind maps on the meto, soemone said dont trust those graphics but they are from our national weather service.
  6. Estofex downgrade, that is NOT what i wanted to see. Gutted Max gusts 48 mph, mean speeds 27 mph imby, just a windy (ish) night
  7. Went to bed at 10, so glad i did, hardly any ppn at all - all eyes on storm rachel now.
  8. Im just outside the snow symbol areas on the met map, shame but there you go thats the weather for you.
  9. If blitzortung is correct theres lightning in some of the showers in the west. If theres a chance of lightning tonight i will be drinking lots of coffee
  10. lol daniel, had a feeing someone might do that. Nice to see the snow warning extended.
  11. Lets get ready to rumble, do you mean possible thunderstorms tonight or poss snow ? Or even better - thundersnow !!!
  12. Great to know that i was chasing a TS that may have been the same cell that spawned a tornado. I drove through a rough downpour thats for sure.
  13. Predicted the right spot, drove through the worst of it, low visibility and saw 3 lightning strikes, fantastic, first chase is a very long time.
  14. Convective elements are fab, could turn up some surprises. I need a big mug of caffeine.
  15. Estofex now on the case, i cant take this anymooooooore http://www.estofex.org/ Jules beat me to it, level one, have some. wooohooooo
  16. Im hoping on the cheif forecasters latest comment: "The exact track of this system is still open to some uncertainty, as is the location of the strongest windsand it is likely that this warning will be reviewed in the coming days to fine tune the areas at risk from the impacts"
  17. Ambers out for snow up noorf ! And that snow chart - please extend 50 miles east
  18. I hope from a storm lovers perspective that a very late amber gets sent out for my area because the storm suddenly decides to do something unpredictable, that would be fab.
  19. Im not writing it off , i hope im really very wrong and get eggs thrown at my face but i just have a feeling imby and surrounding areas might only end up seeing 50 mph. And that will not be enough to float my boat, i was never expecting 1987 but hoped for gusts of 80-90 mph, in my back yard or maybe close by.
  20. Yep, northern ireland to see the strongest gusts, i still think there is a possibility that some people in the south will be posting "what was all the fuss about" on thursday morning. Me likely to be one of them.
  21. ive calmed down a bit now, much like the gfs imby from its earlier offerings some days ago, a 'windy' night with wheelie bins wobbling on the cards for me and maybe a one off gust to topple the bins. I will just make funny ish comments instead of moaning about what it could have been. At some much earlier runs the gfs was showing 80-90 gusts in my area, but it was FI and i should have ignored it totally.
  22. Have to agree with last two posts. Unless the 'squally' nature of the front turns up some surprises i dont see 70 mph gusts imby or surrounding areas.
  23. All we need now is a fog warning for the full set ! The snow charts on the bbc are so painfully close................
