      I still don't understand what 'heights' means, is it just another word for high pressure ?

      It correlates. As far as I can tell, people use the term for the height above sea level of the 500 hPa atmospheric pressure level. This is in decametres (10 metres) so 528 DAM air means the 500 millibar level is at 5280 metres.
