Wet and windy this morning. Very mild at 16c.

Dull and plenty of of rain this morning. 13c and wind 7mph. Forecast is for conditions to improve towards lunchtime. Glad I took the opportunity of the fine weather yesterday to get the washing done!

I munch my cats to within an inch of their lives sometimes because love them
….well most of the time unless they are tripping me up or squabbling with each other! I receive affection in return with nose bumps off Lewis and Rupert in particular and Prudence will snuggle up to me and sometimes places her paw on my hand as if to hold it.
I often wonder if there is a scientific reason as to why cats insist on walking right in front of you so you can trip up or insist on sitting in the middle of open doorways/on steps so you can’t get passed them?
I refuse to kiss the tortoise though

Lovely bright morning around these parts although some cloud is starting to develop to the NW of me. Temp 14c, wind 9mph. A good day to finish those remaining jobs in the garden for winter.

Had mine on once in the last 10 days or so and that was mainly to assist with getting the washing dry. I fire the boiler up once a week or so for around 20mins just to get the water circulating.

Dry and mostly cloudy with the occasional sunny interval. Must have had at least 35mm rain since yesterday morning. The rain was so heavy it has seeped through from next doors garden into my car port so I’ve had a major drying out job to do this morning

Goodness me, it is 08.45 and it might be 20.45 with how dark it is particularly indoors. The torrential rain has been absolutely hammering down now for almost 2 hours. The rain is so heavy when I went out to feed my foster charges in their summerhouse pen the garden path slabs were squelching as it isn’t draining away quickly enough. The pond overflow pipe is also struggling
Don’t know how many millimetres has fallen but the cats drinking bowl, which is a large dog bowl, in their outside catio was half full and is now full up!

Persistent fairly heavy rain all morning so far but thankfully the wind has dropped. 16c in my garden room although I think the rain is making it feel a little colder. The rain is what we need though as my neighbour was telling me they went to the Elan valley last week and the reservoirs are still very low.

Don’t know if anyone else had the same, but we had some real torrential rain overnight at times. No thunder or lightening with it though.

A beautiful day today. We have a gentle breeze. Sun is out with a few wispy clouds around.
EDIT - an hour later and its clouded over completely

hopefully you have better luck than the girl I spoke to this morning. It seems increasing numbers of those able to are opening up chimneys.

@Wold Topper You were saying about smokeless fuel being in high demand. I ordered mine 22nd September and I have chased the delivery up this morning and I am still up to 15 days away from having it delivered
The lady I spoke to also said she had tried to get a chimney sweep in to do her chimney and was told he was booked up until February!

Looks to be a dull and dreary morning out there today. I can see a little blue sky so we’ll see if the sun manages to poke its nose through! Temperature in my garden room is reading 13.3.

My bungalow is on 16.5 at the moment. If I do use the CH I turn it down when it reaches 20c. The thermostat in the hall can get to 25c with the burner running. I’ll get it going again in the morning as mum is visiting and I need to get it all warm for her

I had mine on a couple of times last week but haven’t felt I have needed to light it again since. Think the temperatures may be about to start dipping so will probably need to get it going again soon. I ordered my smokeless fuel 3 weeks ago and the local depot is so far behind on deliveries I still haven’t received it!

Really quite mild here but wet and windy. Temperature around 17c

Had to admit defeat and put the CH on for a while this morning to get some quick heat. It was 16c in the bungalow and as my 90 year old mum was coming down to me, I had to warm the home through for her benefit. I normally light the burner for her but other things were going at the same time so opted for a blast of CH.

Markedly colder this morning and I can now hear the wind starting to pick up. Had some rain overnight. Currently mostly cloudy but the sunnis trying to pike its nose through between the cloud.

Good news is lovely steady rain just started to fall. Bad news is I will need to weed and dig the garden over for winter when wet enough and easier to dig.

Have been having cold showers and using cold water as much as possible since the start of August so that is saving a lot of gas. EDF thought I was lying about my readings!
Had that problem too. British Gas wouldn’t accept my gas meter reading on their website facility as they said it was lower than they expected. I sent them a photo of said meter reading as proof - still put my payments up though! I’m more electricity heavy and so what Ravelin said about his heat pump reducing his electricity is really interesting.
