  3. Thanks Daniel will be out looking up.
  4. Does anybody know if we will be able to see it tonight
  5. So when can I expect snow then. Cabin fever has set in i need a distraction
  6. A question sorry if it's been asked before. But how is the lack of flight data and ship data going to effect our weather models? And with the drop in CO2 activity will global warming be halted maybe even reversed a bit?
  7. I have heard that lockdown will start tomorrow eve
  8. I went to a farm shop today with a butcher in it. He had loads of chicken. I bought 2 stuffed chicken thighs some freshly made sausages and bacon. I think that if you goto a local butchers you will find what you want
  9. Tom I am thinking of you. I hope your wife gets well soon. And your son is ok.. SQ1 x
  10. FYI my daughters friend is married to a member of the army. He has been deployed to London as of tomorrow.
  11. If you are told if you dont go to work your fired ask for it in writing so you can take your employer to a tribunal for unfair dismissal or your union.
  12. Coronavirus: latest information and advice - HSE news WWW.HSE.GOV.UK Coronavirus: latest information and advice. Latest advice. I repeat what I said before. THE HEALTH AND SAFETY AT WORK ACT IS AN ACT OF PARLIMENT. This means it is against the LAW to put staff at risk. An employer has a duty of care to his staff. If you are being pressured to going into work ask for a risk assessment from your company showing it is safe for you to work. They cannot fire you without good reason and this legislation applies to everybody. Hope this helps some of you.
  13. My daughters school is closed to year 10 and 11 from tomorrow she is a head of department. I am in centre parc this week they are closing down for 2 weeks on Friday
  14. A plus of all this closure though is a big drop in fractures and limb breaks from drink and sport activities. Less people driving on the road so should be less accidents. So fewer people taking up space in hospitals. There are negatives too. What about the old people who live alone and have a fall. How long will they be stuck in their home before someone helps them? Life is going to be strange
  15. I am of the opinion that everybody will slam the government on their response but I would like to see them try to sort this out and keep everybody happy. Life just isn't like that. Why can we not give more positive posts as well? I think I have had the virus I have recovered but am left with a cough that seems to be clearing junk from my lungs. I am not going anywhere near my parents who are 82 and 83. One is type 2 diabetic. This means I feel like a leper. How long do I stay away for fear of poss infecting them. How can I tell my 3 year old granddaughter she cant hug me because I might catch a bug from her. It breaks my heart to think that for the foreseeable future I will not be able to hug my kids. This is the sort of situation a lot of us are in and I have suffered sever depression before and this is not helping me stay away from the pit I climbed out of. And anybody who has been in that pit will know how terrifying it is thinking you might go back down. Can we try with a few more positive post too please ty.
  16. We have never had to deal with this situation before. We are in unknown territory and we all have to help each other and not keep expecting the government to have all the ans. No health service could ever be ready for what we are experiencing so all we can do is help those in our community
  17. Health and safety at work act 1974 etc is an act of LAW. This means if people fail to comply they are breaking the law. You have to have a certain amount of first aid cover and some require police attendance to comply. So yes by law they have effectively closed down events concerts and such.
  18. My daughter has been told by a worker in our NHS to prepare for country lockdown sometime this week. An email went out to all employees in our area. So yes the lockdown a lot of you are calling for is coming sooner rather than later. As an aside note I think I am someone who has had it recently. Last Friday I started with a temp took tabs felt better. Took tabs Sat had very aggravating cough. Sunday felt a lot better and most noticeably I commented to OH that I had not been blocked up at all. By tuesday I had crackles on my lungs when I breathed out I coughed. No crackles anymore but coughing up white junk from lungs which I suspect is pus. If this was the virus it has not effected me too badly. And I have been self isolating all week.
  19. My friend believes she has it. I have been thinking since she told me that I might of had it but not known. So it is so hard to know. I still have a cough which every now and the shifts junk in my lungs. She has said it is not as bad as some flu she has had and after feeling grotty thurs night through to sat she is feeling much better now. In fact she feels almost normal except that she gets breathless when she walks down her garden and back.
  20. Coronavirus: Ten reasons why you ought not to panic THECONVERSATION.COM Pandemic does not refer to the lethality of a virus but to its transmissibility and geographical extension. This is reassuring reading.
  21. My friend just rang to say she developed a temp yesterday and felt aches and pains with headache. Took cold tabs and felt better developed a cough now and is self isolating. She came round for lunch on Tuesday. My question is what do I do now.? Does she have the virus?. I have had a cough and last Friday felt I'll with a headache now got a cough did I give it to her? As they are not testing unless you end up in hostpital how can I tell? I have been home all week this week but have to say I have had one cold after another recently because I have been looking after pre school grandchildren.
  22. It is a very tough call but I think that the Easter holidays are when the government will extend school closures. There is also the matter of the exams coming up in May and June. What do the schools do about them?
