  1. Lovely - get to watch the wintry showers miss me all day. They look like they're heading right for me, then arch away from me at the last minute. For the last 12 months or so, any decent bit of weather, thunder or snow, misses me by inches - it's like it's mocking me.
  2. Getting a sleety mix coming down atm - showers off the North Sea Probably my best hope of seeing anything in the next few days
  3. Well, seems we've had some somewhat sustained slightly-less-than-moderate snizzle/graupel Better than absolutely nothing, but only because it gives me false hope that it may grow in intensity.
  4. Had some of the faintest snizzle imaginable. I suppose I should be grateful for that. Behold! The great Norwich blizzard of 2024. Sure to live in infamy.
  5. Well, that's not my experience - Last time I saw meaningful lying snow was in the BFTE in 2018 and even then we only got scraps, we were mostly in a clear slot with all the snow going jus to the north or just to thr south. I may get some sleety showers off the north sea once in a blue moon, but most of time all the weather misses - too far south for Wash streamers and too far north for Thames streamers.
  6. Typical of how it works for me - always just on the doorstep but doesn't quite make it. Same thing happened with thunderstorms all summer - it feels like the weather is laughing at me and giving me the finger as it floats on by.
  7. That's interesting - the red for the snow was on the lighter side anyway a lot of the time - wouldn't it work better to make the snow more deep red and the hail more yellow?
  8. Snow used to be red and freezing rain purple, now snow is purple/pink This pic contains a mix of snow, rain and freezing rain - with the old colours these would've stood out against each other immediately, now they blend into each other. One could easily be mistaken for the other.
  9. Well, looks like another case of being so near, yet so far. The Norwich snow shield holds firm for this winter so far.
  10. It's from a relatively low cost digital weather station with a sensor that sits outside - tbf if it's a couple of mbars off, it's no biggie
  11. 953mb here now and still falling I think this is the lowest surface pressure I've been personally present within EDIT: 952mb now
  12. Still very calm here, gently raining. Pressure is 955mb and still falling.
  13. Very calm here right now, no wind or rain to speak of at the moment The rain situation is about to change though by the looks of it
  14. Wind speeds get tempered a lot in my neck of the woods usually - the last damaging storm I remember was 2002, which felled tress all around my home at the time and knocked the power out for 2 days. Anything above 60mph would be pretty notable for my area, but I don't think I'll see it that bad
  15. On the last big country-wide storm day last week, I missed everything by being a whisker too far east. Today, it looks like I'm going to be just ever so slightly too far south. It's so much more frustrating when it's oh so close
  16. Hazy sunshine here in Norwich - temps already 24°C, however humidity slightly lower than others at 61% Hoping to see something today, though forecasts seem to show the main action all being to my west. EDIT: However, looking at the current radar and the wind directions on the V4 radar gives me some (possibly false) hope. It also looks like the mass over France is heading in earlier than forecast, not sure if that's a good thing, could do with more heating to take place first.
  17. Another storm That's 4 days in a row in Norwich now - must be some kind of record!
  18. That's odd because nothing else does this in Firefox Nightly - and it really really doesn't like it.
  19. Yeah, that was the solution. In Chrome it is a COMPLETELY different experience. Like night and day. Actually functions and acts like an app. In Firefox it was barely functional, just a very broken webpage in a browser window - this is a big issue and needs to be addressed. As a long time Firefox user, I'm used to the Web being geared towards Chrome, but that was just a mess. PLEASE look into it. The V8 radar works in Firefox in Windows no problem, but on Android there's something very wrong.
  20. The node.js mention was just generally as it drives me mad with Windows 'native' desktop applications. I'm my view javascript has no place being the basis for a desktop application - such apps are bloated and poorly optimised. It's just a bugbear of mine. I'm at a bit of a loss what to do here though - is there anyway you can provide the option of a legacy app for the likes of me or update the app to force it through Chrome to ensure compatibility?
  21. The thing that I'm finding frustrating about this is I keep being told this isn't just a browser window opening a website - but that is literally what it is. If this forced it to open inside a Chrome window instead it might work ok, but if it's just going to open a default browser window then this is the risk - I shouldn't have to mess around with my default browser to open an app properly - call me old fashioned, but the point of an app is it's supposed to run locally on the device itself. This 'webification' of all software drives me absolutely nuts - everything is either just a website running in a obfuscated browser window or it's some bloated and janky NodeJS rubbish, which is just putting lipstick on some javascript and pretending it's a native app.
  22. Firefox has the option to open websites in their related app like Twitter or YouTube - so it is something a standard webpage has. Like I said, everything about this just shows its a browser window pointing to the website.
