  1. Just been told by SMS that I am to be issued with masks for work and they will be delivered tomorrow.
  2. No, but you are allowed to hand write your own if you have no printer but since, as I said earlier, you need one for each day and one for each activity each day (here anyway) you'd be spending your entire time writing. I'm going to have one with all the relevant boxes ticked per day and claim ignorance I think!
  3. It's not just one piece of paper, Nick. I was just on the Government website where you download the form and you have to have one for each day and one for each reason you are out of the house - running, cycling, dog walking, shopping, work. I'll be bloody snowed under with sheets of paper by the end of this.
  4. Agree, it's all very "Cold War"! The Thiriet delivery drivers dropping off shopping to my neighbour across the road were wearing masks just now as Mylo and I came back from our morning walk. I don't think there'll be much enforcement outside the worst affected areas and bigger towns and cities. I'll still bring my paper tomorrow though, just in case but only because I want to combine a few things tomorrow when I go out in the car for work. The fine is 135€ (but in reality 38€!).
  5. I think you can probably get one from a Gendarmerie/Post Office/Mairie - if they stay open! I've just cycled to my nearest client and back and nothing seems different here. People are out and about on foot buying their bread and there are the same number of cars and delivery truck/vans as any other morning. No Gendarmes in evidence in either village. Maybe things will change tomorrow when you have to have your papers...
  6. From tomorrow, here in France, we all have to carry an "attestation" that you download from the Interior Ministry when going out. You have to provide one of very few valid reasons for being out and about on the form. It feels a litle like something from an "Iron Curtain" movie. Weird times to be living through.
  7. I had a bad day yesterday but I'm much better today. I cycled to work this morning and will do the same twice tomorrow and the exercise really calmed me down. I can't run with Mylo at the moment as he has a slight injury to his left wrist so I have to improvise! I love my bike but the weather was crap this morning and the water was coming up off the front wheel into my face - but I didn't care. I can't give you hope and optimism, no one could right now but I can give you an insight into what makes me feel good/better. Love and good feelings...
  8. 6633 cases here now and 21 new deaths. Mllaahh...
  9. And utility bills are suspended - just when the week will bring less need for the heat to be on - but more showers needed!
  10. It's just not clear enough, Snipper. A basic message is not enough. Social distancing is made into a nonsense if people are still going to work and the supermarket as normal. Either you have to stay at home and only go for walks well away from other people etc. or you don't. It's just too confusing for people.
  11. I still don't understand this term "lockdown" and don't think I ever will. People are able to go to the shops - prime spreading territory. People are able to go to work if they can't work from home - this is an awful lot of people. What is a family event? This is still far too vague to help most people who want to do their best for everyone else.
  12. That is very scary...I kind of wish I hadn't read it.
  13. More than 1000 new cases in Germany in the last 24 hours. No news on France yet, suspect they're saving it for Macron's big moment!
  14. Many of my clients have now suspended all visits and I am worried for them without the social and care contact that I give. It seems that I will either be paid for my agreed monthly average hours and/or have to claim "chomage" (unemployment benefit) to top up. We'll manage, we'll get through this and the sun will be shining on the other side...
  15. I think he means mass gatherings won't be supported by the emergency services. It is all very confusing though. Nothing really "draconian" despite the word being used. Who knows what we'll hear this evening...
  16. "But this ban would not apply to citizens from the handful of EU member states that are outside the Schengen area (such as Croatia, Ireland, Cyprus or the UK - which is treated as a member state during the Brexit transition period.)" (Source: BBC live) Panic over, for now...
  17. Oh, NO, NO, NO! I stuck alone with this "thing that has come among us" for a month - I'll have to find a way to get my OH here...
  18. "Amid the panic buying sweeping UK supermarkets, some people are trying to make a massive profit by selling toilet roll and hand sanitiser online, Josh Halliday, the Guardian’s north of England correspondent, reports. The Guardian found one UK-based eBay user selling a 72-pack of Andrex toilet roll for £84.99 on Monday morning – triple its retail price. The same user, who appears to be based in the Midlands, appears to have bulk bought dozens of cleaning products and uploaded them all to eBay at huge mark-ups since Saturday night. They include a 48 pack of Andrex loo roll for £59.99 - triple its retail price of £18 - and Wilko anti-bacterial wipes for £10.95, nearly ten times the retail price of £1. This seller and eBay have been contacted for comment. There appears to be no shortage of people willing to pay such extortionate prices: an auction for a 72-pack of Andrex toilet roll had reached £51 on eBay by Monday morning - nearly double its retail price of £27 – with over five hours of bidding still to go. Other sellers were also getting in on the profiteering. One seller had flogged dozens of Regina 9-pack toilet rolls (RRP £2.49) for up to £12.99 since Saturday night. Another had sold 18 packs of Andrex for £8.50 –more than triple its retail price of £2.50." (Source: Guardian online)
  19. No - it doesn't make sense. Then again, if this wasn't likely how would anything change from the current situation? I think we just need to wait and see...
  20. That would be awful. Would it mean you couldn't go out for a run or a dog walk or a cycle ride? I just couldn't live like that but I'm so glad I have a nice garden.
  21. Ryanair is grounding 80% if flights from April and does not rule out a complete grounding. (Source: Guardian online)
  22. ADP have announced the closure of Orly 2 airport from tomorrow. No decision yet regarding Terminal 3 at CDG. (Source: BFMTV live) I think we are beginning to see the end of air travel over here for the forseeable future... We've also had an SMS from work saying to limit calls to the office as the hours are being reduced for reception.
  23. PSA, the car manufacturer, is shutting all production sites in France starting with the one in Mulhouse. (Source: BFMTV live)
