    Perfect. Enough of the vortex left across Canada to prevent the high retrogressing to far west. Low heights into the majority of Europe. Lows spawning and running under the block.. As good as it gets.

    I'd presume a correction south.. You just have to look at the way the models have handled the Atlantic fronts moving in this week Initally it was a rain fest with Atlantic low after Atlantic low. As the models move closer and they realise they can't displace the cold air they will continue to correct south. That's what usually happens anyway.

    The BBC just use the dermitatic ECM.. You can watch thier forecasts or look at the model for yourself. Don't be surprised if as each run ticks down the lows slide further and further.. Models overcook the potential to displace cold air.

    ECM with snow for part of Wales, the Midlands and South West England on Sunday See attached mean below as well GFS, however more of rain to snow event as the low slides. Place your bets

    You have 4 models that potentially show the cold reasserting itself at day 5, even if it's only for a brief period saying it won't snow in the south in the next week is ludicrous.

    Have to disagree with this nick as I look out of the window here .. Large parts of Wales today are under snow.. Even swansea has a decent covering which is right on the coast, large swathes of the Midlands right down to London... The North East and North West have had laying snow.. Scotland has had a few days already as had Northern Ireland... Barring the far south west of England I'm pretty sure most have done better this year already than we have for a few years.

    Finished the day with the additional showers with 8cm of laying snow.. 5cm last night and 3cm in the previous shower. On to the next one, I won't rest till its 53cm.
