      Forget wasps, who despite what Crewe Cold says, do have  a useful function, https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-41042948, the real nasty thing out there is the horsefly. At least a wasp will leave you alone but a horsefly is a vile insect who delilberately goes for you.

      Wasps are aggressive little bar barstewards end of. You don't get many horseflies in built up areas but you do get an abundance of wasps in August/September. Both horseflies and wasps are equally as vile in terms of their effects on humans.
