Thunderstorm to the NE of here now! Exciting times!

Haha, I love the stuff, not just because there's instability in the air, but I love the shape of them. Very lightly raining here, but feeling quite humid and it's quite dull and hazy, certainly feels thundery.

Sorry? No, it sounded like as if Jcweather was saying that the LOW was going to be to the south of the UK, but that's incorrect it's going to affect western areas of the UK.

To the south? No, that's incorrect. It'll be too the north if anything. Anyway, more showers developing now out west.

Yeah, if the Met Office is correct, then the Isles of Scilly and Cornwall could well get thunderstorms later on. Interesting that it puts a downpour slap bang over the top of me, too.

Really? Well, unfortunately there wouldn't have been a lightning strike anyway, there was no precipitation in the area.

Sorry, but where were you seeing this? There wasn't a detected lightning strike or shower?

Very unstable looking skies in the Isles of Scilly! There are developing elevated showers which may turn to thunderstorms through this evening!

I have just read Matt Hugo's forecast for today and it says this: "However, parts of Ireland, Wales and SW England will see an increasing risk of some locally heavy and perhaps thundery showers later today and overnight into Wednesday", I can't see that anywhere else? Altocumulus Castellanus cloud visible on this webcam: But, yeah if I'm being perfectly honest, most thunder risk will be the further west you are not east like some posters have said, most of the instability is tied up at mid level within the front not at surface based ahead of the front.

Still think we'll get some thundery rain and/or thunderstorms through tomorrow night into Thursday as the warm front moves in from the SW. Can already see instability building west of the Isles of Scilly.

Met Office and GFS still agreeing on a thundery breakdown later on Wednesday.

Really starting to notice the nights drawing in now, the other night I was on the PC and hadn't looked outside for a while, I was shocked when it was pitch black outside!
