Some places on the island could get buried, the Dublin snow shield might even get smashed to prices @Rocheydub

Some big gusts here already this evening.
Hopefully a bit drier and less windy the rest of the week once this storm passes through

14 degrees tomorrow , only means one thing at this time of year.
Barely above freezing this time last week.
No wonder everyone you talk to has had, is in the middle of or has just got over cold/flu

Anyone else getting power cuts?
No, thankfully, neighbours half a mile away have been on and off for an hour.
Apparently NIE teams stood down
Winds to peak here in next 2-3hrs if the metO app is to be believed

Winds definitely getting stronger, it’s times like this I wish I purchased a weather station.
Spent a while outside watching the planes approach Belfast international, only to be unfortunate to land, wouldn’t want to be on one this evening, serious disruption

Storm for Sunday looking more and more potent!
Just seen in the MOD thread about Sundays storm, it has the potential to be very nasty for Ireland in general
Its not like the MetO to issue a wind warning this far in advance either, especially for a Sunday

Met a convoy of 6 gritters leaving the Omagh depot around 6.40pm, just had another rain shower there now, roads will be like a bottle tomorrow morning so take it handy folks.
Just back in from shop and can confirm the roads around here are already like a bottle.
Frozen snow and black ice will definitely be an issue

A good 4 inches here today, thaw commenced and the place a slushy mess this evening. Showers turning to sleet / snow based on radar, tomorrow am will be interesting with temps already dipping.
Another note to add for Thursday with the strikes occurring, along with the current forecast conditions it could be a day for working from home

What’s the thoughts on later this evening and tomorrow prospects of more snow folks?
Thursday the roads could be a nightmare with the strike happening
-
I would say we’re approaching 3” here, not sign of rain yet

Still snow in Ballyclare this morning, traffic at a stand still

There’s been a few changes on the MetO warnings today but I haven’t had a chance to review.
Wednesday looks to be snowy based on the quick read I had of them
