  1. Warmest day of the year so far despite it having clouded over a wee bit. 18.8c about 3pm. Not enthused about the incoming cold weather…
  2. Glorious last few days. Wind was still pretty fierce Wednesday so ‘only’ scraped 16c but 17c yesterday with winds a touch lighter. Today could be even better. Wall to wall blue skies, fields have now been rolled and horses rotated after the usual winter quagmire has dried up. Not as bad as some years but pretty wet at times.
  3. Chilly start to the day as was cloudy. That wind is cool but the afternoon was warm. In any shelter it’s roasting, a max of 17.4c
  4. Wasn’t a great day initially but brightened up by about 5pm, felt warm in the milky sunshine at 16.3c despite the Grey skies to the North and East.
  5. Same as above. Low of -1.2c and now sitting at 14.2c Gorgeous day, blue skies all day
  6. Yesterday was a gorgeous afternoon, won’t be accurate but car was consistently showing 14c yesterday about 4pm down in Kippford. A frosty start today has given way to a crystal clear day. Chillier, currently 10.3c but in the strong sunshine it’s very pleasant. Bring on summer
  7. Shocker of a day today i’m told, rained since midday. I was up near Bathgate and at least it was dry but pretty chilly in the wind. As I return home, Lots of flooding down here. Before today’s rain we were at 133mm for the month (20mm above the historical average - SEPA). Tuesday and Wednesday look pretty bleak…
  8. Lovely day actually (after a terribly wet and windy last 36), 12.1c and largely sunny. In any shelter that sun feels warm!
  9. Dreich, might be mild but doesn’t feel great. Constant drizzle all day, zero sun.
  10. Been a really raw afternoon, 2.5c when the rain first set in. Now up to 3.5c and grim. Whilst the milder weather is welcome, the rain isn’t. 40mm since Sunday and plenty more to come
  11. Decent extended snow shower just passed through, massive fluffy flakes at times. Can’t say winter 22/23 has been too bad here. Some good cold spells, lacking on the snowfall front but hey ho. Today has been a cracker and v cold night ahead. IMG_8123.MOV
  12. Snow clung on desperately until 6am or so but the rain had really attacked it. Now 8.6c and we had sunny spells. Really quite pleasant and daffodils all in full bloom now. However first spits of rain now being felt, next 24/36 hours are a complete write off looking at the forecast. Fingers crossed for some winter weather tomorrow evening
  13. Same here, lovely fluffy flakes. Not lying currently. Ended up with a couple centimetres on Friday morning, a shame as it snowed for around 12 hours. Yesterday was a stunning day, I do love the crystal clear skies you get with a Northerly. Was down at the coast and the lake district hills looked pretty good
  14. I concur, 0.9c now so falling pretty fast. Some surfaces are turning white. Can we clutch victory from the jaws of defeat? FullSizeRender.MOV
  15. Pretty persistent light snow here, not lying yet. Temp 1.8c and falling Hills turning white though. I think overnight, as others have said, will be the best chance. The sun is pretty strong during the day
  16. Some very light snow here, 4c so not doing much at all. All very uninspiring, raw feeling day and slate grey skies
  17. Cracking day yesterday up Blencathra via sharp edge, finally got some sunshine! Makes the complete failure today re snow more bearable, always next time I guess. Feb 96, March 13 being the most recent big ‘slider’ low snowfalls down here…but what is 10-30 years eh (cries).
  18. It’s that glow just above the horizon that gets me. I love the air quality from a Northerly
  19. Cracking day again, hopefully won’t cloud over too early spoiling my views in the lake district later. Re tomorrow, I would take a couple inches happily (that’s what she said)
  20. They do just react to the models are are behind. However I reckon the central belt needs some luck, I have a chance but not the snow totals I was looking at a few days ago. Let’s hope it trends North, we all don’t need much!
  21. XC has significantly reduced my snowfall amounts for Thurs/Friday. Will expect further southwards corrections but hope for the best, a bit gutted.
  22. @Hairy Celt Sorry! If it’s any consolation I think it’ll get nowhere near that far North. @Kirkcaldy Weather Fantastic post! It’ll all go wrong now as those charts are pretty perfect IMBY
  23. Be a shame for the central belt. I might even miss out if this continues although I do remember being predicted to miss in 2013 and it made it a little further North than predicted on the day. Typically the models over correct south and then almost come back to a middle ground solution. We shall see, be pretty disappointing if England gets all our snow! This winter has been fairly poor snowfall wise for the southern half of Scotland we deserve some luck!
