  1. I'm have a shocker here. The rain and associated storm has alm but fizzled out. Yet 5-10miles East and 20mins ago it was biblical. It must be something to do with being near the coast. I don't remember it being like this 10-20yrs ago though, something has changed but I don't know what! I've had 1.8mm here in Weston-super-Mare, but the storm up near Ashton in Bristol must gave delivered plenty more.
  2. Under it at work in Ashton - no thunder of lightning. And the stuff further south has lost any electrical activity.
  3. I just can't see storms developing here today. Currently just cloudy with light rain.
  4. Not a chance in hell of storms developing here today - another bust to go with the many bust before it.
  5. And sure enough, just a mass of heavy rain. What's it going to take to get a decent thunderstorm around these parts
  6. I've been looking on the net for one, and for around £250 you can get a decent one which comes with the window kit. We have literally done nothing, and getting the dog out for a walk is turning into going out either very late at night or very early in the morning. Sleep has been at a premium. Must admit, cooler nights will be welcomed, but Don't want to wish away this weather, as it won't be long before the endless days of grey skies and wet and windy days take hold through autumn and winter.
  7. Today is probably going to be 7 straight days where the temperature has exceeded 30c It's impossible to keep the house cool and the days have become nothing more than sitting doing nothing. I haven't had a hot meal other than a bbq as its pointless putting the oven on as it only makes the house even hotter. Seriously considering buying a portable aircon unit for next year.
  8. Imagine if this winter turned out to be wetter and colder than average.
  9. Is cloud not going to inhibit storm potential today? Very cloudy here at the moment!
  10. I guess it depends on how quickly the cold front moves through!
  11. It's plausible just like the bitter artic freezes the models predict in winter. In reality, the models have picked up a signal for rise in temperatures in a 10 days time but it's likely this will be modified as we get nearer.
  12. Usually in these situations, there will be a warm spell but nothing like GFS is predicting, and the duration of the hot spell will shorten as well 2-3 days of high 20's low 30's is probably how it will pan out.
  13. Wow what a wonderful day.........not Been raining all day total so far is 25.2mm and still raining. Maxed out at 13.3c, currently 12.1c
  14. Ain't going to happen like its showing there. I'm slap bang in the middle of the warning like I've been so many times before. Nowt comes of it.
  15. As far as I'm concerned that's another bust. Heard some very very distant thunder and one or two faint flashes of lightning and 4.3mm of rain. Now left with overcast laden skies. The weather for my neck of the woods keeps on bringing one disappointment after another.
  16. It's been so long since we've had a decent storm here, I can't help but think negatively. Here's hoping
  17. I've seen this setup before and it all looked so promising until it got nearer to the Bristol channel, then it dispersed into nothing more than heavy rain.
  18. Haven't heard anything from the MSM about record cold in the Americas, but have heard plenty about the record heat in the middle East. MSM doing what it does best
