Unless you live high up in the Pennines there is no snow in the forecast from tomorrow's rain band!!

Why are people going on about tomorrow! There is no snow forecast, just rain and strong winds! We've all see strong winds! Tonight's forecast by Paul Hudson and the bbc/met office txt looks very exciting for our region tonight!

Snow. the wait goes on, although I've kind of given up on this winter anyhow.

If the models were showing a high potential of snow this week I would have thought there'd have been more posts. Steve are we sure some aren't straw clutching??

I know I think that's extremely poor and unprofessional by the professionals!! How can you show 2c / cold easterly winds and snow showers and then look north says 5c / and a few wintry flurries! Poor

Well annoyingly and frustratingly it was looking better here at 150m with a fairly long snow shower with hail earlier and temp dropped to 1.2 but now risen to 1.5 and wet and rather disappointing on radar.

Has tonight's potential been downgraded again....?? Any feedback appreciated as at work

Well isn't that just typical! Ukmo normally very consistent. I bet my bottom dollar that it wouldn't have backtracked if this was the other way round! That's a shame for us cold n snowy fans. There were some mega cold uppers too. Thanks to the annoying Canadian PV.

I agree with quite a few on here. Tamara I'm afraid we can't all think positive, we've done that since November! The models are absolutely rubbish right now for snow chances. I just can't believe how poor this winter has been! It's quite frankly unbelievable! Can anyone believe how the AO has just gone from mega neutral to mega positive! Typical. I too think that's at least half of fen gone now. We're guaranteed nothing from a warming!! Sad times

I remember saying on here back in November that any potential good Synoptics need to happen when we see them!! (They didn't) and people use to say to me-be patient, winter hasn't started yet, ages yet etc.... Hmmm

It seems to me that were all straw clutching at the slightest changes in model output in the last week or so. The ecm last night was a glimmer of hope but is now more or less back to square 1. The charts frustratingly seem to be stuck in a rut with the uk in no mans land and in n out of milder uppers compared to East and west of us. I for one think it's game over for this winter because the met office have resumed there status quo forecast well into feb (when days get longer and the sun stronger). They have mongreps and other information at there disposal which is obviously showing no potential. Whilst at the same time we try to find any crumb of comfort from the ecms easterly and gfs NWesterly etc which just simply is very unlikely to come to fruition So a very poor winter in my books.

So true!! And whilst everyone on here is hope casting for February, the met office have already practically nailed it off constantly as pretty much 'status quo'. Rubbish winter!Wouldn't it just be fantastic to just see the met office outlook using terms such as/ widespread snow, severe cold, blizzards, drifting etc. we can only imagine. Ps. Did anyone ever save the wintriest outlook they've ever put/had?

What a lovely white frosty sub zero morning here but with no snow. Having a glance at the ecm tomorrow I decided to look no further! The run is about as bad as leeds United were yesterday. A shambles. January my favourite month fast running out

You never have anything positive and upbeat to say about chances of. Old and snow so why not lighten up and listen to what Steve says who knows more than most on here inc you and me

And on top of that Paul Hudson at lunchtime said that there isn't even the slightest glimpse of any cold or snowy weather in the near future and beyond

This winter goes to show how low solar activity and massive snow cover over Russia has no interaction without uk weather! Also that silly myth that whatever cold and snow develops over north East USA later affects us! Absolute garbage!

Met office outlook forecasts are very interesting and exciting!!
