  2. so your saying she goes up there and says what she wants? She gets her information from good sources im sure. Just because she doesnt say its going to jaffa cakes down with shed loads of snow!!!! Her forecast was spot on IMO even if she is a crap presenter
  3. you see i dont get this attitude. i agree terrible presenter, but what do you want her to do? Lie? Shes said it how it is
  4. just about to set off down the motorway back to Liverpool. Just popped outside for a quick smoke and its gusty here in Blackburn, gladly just a short drive home
  5. if that comes off ill eat my own hat.If anything itll be rain. And i live in the northwest and am not a southerner.Just wont happen.Nice to dream though
  6. There was never going to be anything from it. People cling to straws in here.Im all for excitement when theres somethign to get excited about.Met office had this down as rain all along and theyre right the vast majority of the time.If there was going to be snow, theyd have said snow. They didnt they said rain.
  7. couldnt understand why people were getting excited when it was forecast for rain, nothing more nothing less. The winds were exciting though, nice bit of weather watching but nothing else was ever expected.
  8. winds are strong, i work on the Mersey my building is right on the front and its getting worse it seems.
  9. Bit hopeful there Chris. Nothing will be happening in our neck of the woods! Nailed on rain if anything, even then itll be drizzly and light
  10. Ravelin, many thanks for the response. I guess we are just looking for somewhere that has a 2-3 decent pubs a kind of cosy feel to it. Ive never visited the highlands and i just think it would be somewhere really nice and cosy to go and get away from the usual hustle and bustle of new years.im not saying i want it to be deathly quiet, just somewhere i guess with a nice feel to it and a relaxed atmosphere. Thanks for your response i will look into it in more detail after work
  11. not sure if anyone can help me.Hopefully some of you scottish folk may be able to. Im looking at going to somehwere in the highlands for a couple fo nights around new years.Obviously there is Aviemore, all im looking for is somewhere chilled out relaxing, nice couple of pubs in or around there with the chance of some snow.Having never visited the highlands before i was hoping to get some info on possible places around there that are nice villages with a few decent boozers/pubs for me and the lady on NYE. Any help would be appreciated and i know its off topic but wasnt sure where to put it??? I was hoping for some snow but not sure where i would stand on that front obviously!
  12. yeah and there was wet snow that didn't stick and a few hail stones.
  13. anyone who is expecting anything other than rain this evening are going to be bitterly disappointed.
  14. it snows then melts because that snow is hail...It isnt snow at all
  15. why anyone is lamp post watching is beyond me! especially near sea level...much higher up I can sort of understand, even then itll be likely a tiny bit of sleet at best
  16. be lucky to see a flurry from this here in Liverpool...expecting nothing but drizzle /cold rain. Still though a promising start to winter seeing as its not really here yet. Will wait and see and hope for a great winter. Having watched a couple of weather forecasts this morning is there any reason none of them are going beyond tomorrow night?
  17. cant see anyone getting anything decent from this on the west coast.Might get a few flurries if we are lucky.I stand to be corrected obviously and id love the opposite to be true, but i can just see it being cold and damp at times, thats about it
  18. Yes easterlys struggle over the pennines to produce much for the far west. I dont think we will get much with this northerly but i do imagine we will see some flurries...who knows, bit of excitement and about time too.
  19. HI all, quite new to all of this but followed the site for years. Im execting a few flurries out of all of this next week. To be honest i just like cold weather in general.I wouldnt rule out a dusting for some parts though,From what ive read in other parts of this site theres a few ramping this up and others being totally pessimistic.I see it as somewhere inm between.Id be chuffed to see some wintry showers this time of the year
