    and thats my point.not rare for where he/she is. Rare at low levels. We have been blessed with snow on many occasions over the last 10 years but it is far from the norm

    434m above sea level mate. makes a difference! it is rare.

    as much as i love snow i think people need to realise just how rare a big snow event is.Its not our normal winter weather to have snow, we must remember that,we are a tiny island in the grand scheme of things that has so many things going against it for snow.Nice when it happens dont get me wrong and id love to see some,but we have some extraordinary weather other than snow this winter.

    if you take a look at the graphics on the bbc website it shows snow for the early hours accross the region

    slight breeze few showers here and there, generally quite a nice day.The dogs a bit wet having been out for a walk and he stinks a bit so its bath time for him

    Im not really up on it all but follow it rather than post. I think its more of a eastern event.we were going to take some flack a few days ago but from what i gather we will miss out on any fun.its very marginal anyways.

    mate that thread is very much if it isnt in their back yard it is a let down. Fact is theres a good chance of us seeing wintry stuff next week. As you said its all NIMBY and people kick off and are all doom and gloom.Good chance of wintry precipitation here next week.

    Not sure why people are moaning.It is nice to see snow and im a lover of the stuff but the fact is it is not exactly the norm for thi cou ntry in winter to get any. Its nice when it happens yes, but it is hardly a surprise and more a typical british winter when it doesnt

    thanks for the reply mate.So we hope for the atlantic wether to try and make inroads and as that hits the cold air around our region it falls as snow right? Or is that too simple?

    im very new to all of this but all this talk of snow next week is this mainly for the south east? any help would be appreciated but from what i can gather in the models thread everyones talking about the easterlies.I thought we never done well from easterlies? Why are people here confident? I now that may sound daft but im just curious.what am i missing exactly? Id appreciate any help

    i am an absolute newbee.But reading this thread has been very exciting.Lots of knowledgable folk in here.Keep up the good work its a great read and interesting getting peoples differing views,though everyone now seems to be going for cold! which is great news.Living in Liverpool its a bit of a downer but if we get snow anywhere close by a trip will have to be made

    youd like to think so eh! this weather has been mundane to say the least,rain and wind for what seems like months.Getting boring now.Be nice to have a bit of snow.Hell id take it just being cold and feeling like winter if im honest.Its just dull at the monet and nothing to write home about.Heres hoping we get somehing more interesting next week

    nice charts this morning NW would do well to get anything but a bit of cold dry weather out of it though. Mainly snow for the south and east me thinks.Anything would be a bonus but not likely

    pretty average,raining and a few gusty winds, not as windy as it was.glad new years going to be miserable! ive a 2 night break in the lakes all tucked up in a country pub with a roaaring log fire and some nice wine and food.lovely!

    well clear skies here in liverpool,and im off at 4-30pm and finish for xmas! not back in work until Jan 6th.Heaven! deserved though as i only had xmas day off last year! Might even treat myself to a nice bottle of red this evening!
