Oh boy! With all the window watching and radar watching today, I hadn't even checked the UKMO high resolution model. It still gives light precip over the Midlands at 5am, so that's another 8 hours of precip to go and then it gives a reload with a heavier band at 9am, that is still snow, not rain!! This could turn out to be a memorable event Does it? Love that SNOW WARRIORS

I think for us Midlanders, we have 2 bites at the cherry to see some of this snow settle. Tonight, once it gets dark, I would expect some of it to start sticking for quite a few of us. Not expecting anything major, 2-5cm possible, but better than nothing! Then, the second bite at the cherry comes on Friday morning when the low starts to move away and drag the colder air South again. Looks a lot less marginal when that happens as well. So Friday morning could potentially be better for us.

I swear you are so unlucky when it comes to snow in your location I used to joke about the Leicester snow shield back in the day, but Stratford takes the biscuit! I think you'll see it turn to snow as darkness falls. We have had snow falling here for 3 hours now but none settling. It's nice to see it fall, but also frustrating. Makes you wonder how much would have accumulated by now if had all settled

Looking good for Central Southern England tomorrow! The 12z has moved the band slightly further North. I can see Oxfordshire and Berkshire getting a pasting. 10cm+ wouldn't surprise me in the slightest for those areas. Hoping for selfish reasons that it moves another 30 miles North before tomorrow to put Leicester in a better position, but i'll take a couple of cm's at this stage
