  1. 31cm! Willinglossop is going to be snowed in again I haven't seen him on here for ages. Does he not use the Midlands thread anymore?
  2. I know how you feel mate. I scraped 5 hours and i've been walking around like that dude from the Adams family all day
  3. Oh boy! With all the window watching and radar watching today, I hadn't even checked the UKMO high resolution model. It still gives light precip over the Midlands at 5am, so that's another 8 hours of precip to go and then it gives a reload with a heavier band at 9am, that is still snow, not rain!! This could turn out to be a memorable event Does it? Love that SNOW WARRIORS
  4. That's a big difference to be fair! Some of the lying snow could stick around until Sunday!
  5. Starting to get good now. Snow is starting to stick Looks like it could be here until the early hours, if the Precip charts are anything to go by!
  6. I think for us Midlanders, we have 2 bites at the cherry to see some of this snow settle. Tonight, once it gets dark, I would expect some of it to start sticking for quite a few of us. Not expecting anything major, 2-5cm possible, but better than nothing! Then, the second bite at the cherry comes on Friday morning when the low starts to move away and drag the colder air South again. Looks a lot less marginal when that happens as well. So Friday morning could potentially be better for us.
  7. I'm hopeful that when darkness falls, us Midlanders will start to see it settle a bit more.
  8. I swear you are so unlucky when it comes to snow in your location I used to joke about the Leicester snow shield back in the day, but Stratford takes the biscuit! I think you'll see it turn to snow as darkness falls. We have had snow falling here for 3 hours now but none settling. It's nice to see it fall, but also frustrating. Makes you wonder how much would have accumulated by now if had all settled
  9. Coming down heavier in Ratby as well. We've got a slight bit of elevation up here compared to Leicester City Centre. The house i'm in is around 120m ASL. Still no sign of settling but I think we have a better chance when darkness arrives.
  10. Been snowing here in Leicester for around 2 hours now. Zero has settled Hope it does later tonight. Gutting to see it fall and not settle.
  11. Tell you what, that band of precip is steaming in! It's already reached South Wales I'd expect it to be in Birmingham by 6am!
  12. Mate, i'll flip my lid if all we get from this now is rain and a hint of sleet
  13. I'd be amazed if the West Midlands only saw 'a mostly dry, cloudy and cold day'. The majority of the West Midlands will see some snow tomorrow, in my opinion.
  14. Must admit, i'm getting a bit excited now Even the Weather on my phone is ramping it up!
  15. If the GFS and UKMO charts are to believed. There would widely be 5-10cm+ in a sweet spot somewhere in that band. I expect them to update it for the forecast on the news this evening.
  16. Updated one for you... Looks like our best chance would be on the back edge of the system, tomorrow night into Thursday.
  17. Yes mate, they are only up until T27 at rhe moment though. Slowly rolling out the new 12z run.
  18. Sounds about right mate I can remember scenario's like that happening a few times back in the day! Just hope we at least see a few cm's here tomorrow!
  19. Looking good for Central Southern England tomorrow! The 12z has moved the band slightly further North. I can see Oxfordshire and Berkshire getting a pasting. 10cm+ wouldn't surprise me in the slightest for those areas. Hoping for selfish reasons that it moves another 30 miles North before tomorrow to put Leicester in a better position, but i'll take a couple of cm's at this stage
