  1. 12z GFS has a more prolonged spell of snow, more especially for Scotland. The front takes quite a while to make any progress, giving a few hours of heavy snow if you're in the right place (me hopefully ). Temps barely rise at all from Northern England northwards, dewpoints also remain around freezing or just below for a good while as well. Some folk might get a surprise on Monday morning, because with evaporative cooling taken into consideration the freezing level might not be that far from sea level (for a while at least).
  2. Ended up with 15 INCHES! Most I've ever seen at once, and it's still lying now in abundance on the pavements especially. Constant sea effect streamers! It really was an amazing spell of weather, but the fact we ran out of bread and milk wasn't nice! I'll remember that spell for the rest of my life, the best one in terms of snowfall to date.
  3. Central Scotland could do well from this setup, Forth-Clyde streamers in abundance
  4. ANYWAY Models showing a decent snow event for a lot of us on Sunday. 18z looking as good if not better than the 12z, always more likely further North.
  5. Big snow even on Sunday according to GFS 18z, focused on Scotland, Northern England and the North Midlands. Definitely one to watch in the coming days.
  6. Looking great for my area (West-Central Scotland) for snow in the next 72-96 hours! Models are giving some great snow potential from that midweek storm (Fionn soon maybe?), along with all those bloody showers from tomorrow evening onwards! Shame that this week's potential is being dampened by the IMBYness in here, just because it's not what a lot of us want. I was bloody fuming when those sliders were dumping FEET of snow in the Midlands, now it's our turn!
  7. Eleanor might be giving me some snow later! Rain right now but the local forecast indicated the risk, hope so!
  8. Aye it's been a while since a trampoline has been airborne here Quite looking forward to Dylan, I'm on the northern flick of the Amber through the Lowlands so here's hoping he delivers!
  9. Not really sure why people are being a bit pessimistic after this 12z. To me, it shows various snow chances for loads of us, the closest being just 36 or so hours away. You have to remember that you don't need -10 850s for snow and cold, and that things may have to be milder for a while before the real cold arrives.
  10. GFS 12z giving Scotland and Northern England a potentially significant snow event on Friday morning, a marked upgrade on 850s giving rise to this. One to watch...
  11. Proper snow for about an hour now, covering the grass and cars so far! White Christmas in Inverclyde!!
  12. I feel like the models are underestimating the snow on the leading edge of the front, because there's a lot of surface cold around currently. For instance, high of -4C here yesterday, low of -8C last night, and it expect it to be about the same tonight and tomorrow too before the front moves in. Maybe some sort of chance for us up North who have missed it all recently, we'll see...
  13. Must be the only member in the NW of the UK that hasn't had a DROP of snow in this cold spell. Missed out on all those showers Thursday and Friday, and obviously the slider today!! Bloody raging doesn't cut it! First ice day of the season today however, with a max of -4°C. Currently -7°C now and a little misty.
  14. Could we see another March 2013 style track shift of this slider low, this time further North back to Central Scotland??? Wishful and selfish thinking maybe, but I guess it could happen...
  15. Scottish Coldie's worst nightmare happening on the 06z, another shift SW...
  16. Snowlow now further South on the 18z, missing Scotland completely (refrain from moaning since its 6 days out and can still change)
  17. A lot of scenes similar to this one of me in 2010 if that came off. A true 11 year old coldie, seconds out of his bed!!
  18. Rain moving in now here, with some sleetiness mixed in. Could be some better chances from midweek onwards for the north!
  19. The Beeb are still mentioning "something wintry" for Northern UK next week, as the fronts bump into the cold air that's apparently still around over Scotland. So they must know something we don't! Keep the faith y'all
  20. There's still some chances of snow for us up North at least, that's something!! And for mid November we should take it!
