    Snow and cold
  1. Been snowing in central Scotland all morning and it's actually lying! Got a good feeling about the rest of this winter. It's already much better than last year which was absolute rubbish for snow unless you lived on the top of a munro.
  2. So what happened to all the positive chat that was going on in here last night? Have the models turned mild again?
  3. Anyone else concerned about the 30 day met office forecasts? pretty much no mention of cold.
  4. It's maybe a positive the models aren't showing cold. Least we won't be let down again and we'll all be happy if they flip to cold
  5. Don't forget March as well. Maybe our winters are just going to start later from now? I hope
  6. Anyone writing off the rest of the winter needs to get their head checked out. For all you know the models could flip to cold tomorrow. Just a gut feeling but I really think the SSW will be our savoir this winter and models will start picking up on it sometime next week. Maybe has been rubbish in the south but as I type this message it's 1 degrees here and has been snowing on and off all day.
  7. Got to laugh at some people on this forum. Just last night a lot of you were saying we are guaranteed an easterly. Today the same people are saying we are not. Kinda confusing to newbies and people who can't read charts. I don't know why people are analyzing charts that are outwith 5 days. The next 4 days are going to be cold pretty much everywhere in the UK, after that we will just need to see what happens
  8. Even if we do get an easterly will it actually be any good? Europe isn't very cold right now.....
  9. The fact that the met office are hinting about a pattern change to potentially prolonged cold at the end of the year is huge. They have been pretty accurate so far this winter. I wouldn't worry too much about what the models are saying right now.
  10. Met office having none of it - http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/uk-weather-an-arctic-freeze-snowstorms-the-most-severe-winter-in-years-probably-not-says-met-office-after-cold-weather-warnings-9890202.html So biased towards mild weather
  11. Met office having none of it - http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/uk-weather-an-arctic-freeze-snowstorms-the-most-severe-winter-in-years-probably-not-says-met-office-after-cold-weather-warnings-9890202.html Met office seem rather mild biased these days. Must be trying to kid people on that global warming actually exists.
  12. This feels like November 2010 all over again....... I hope
  13. Got to admit, I am really concerned that the met office look a head forecast mentions nothing about cold, not even for Scotland. Can anyone remember when they picked up on what happened in 2010?
  14. Are the charts today looking as good as last night?
  15. The only positive thing I can think of at the moment is that the charts are clearly all over the place. Hopefully they are just getting grips with the seasonal change and will hopefully start being a bit more consistent soon. Ps - Is anyone fed up of Brian Gaze? He comes across as a mild troll sometime on his Twitter account. He's one forecaster that really gets up my nose!
