And just for good measure as if the run isn't action packed enough, by 384 we look heading towards a technical SSW for good measure as well.

Cant really read the charts, is there any luck for the south west please? Rather snow starved down here, 2010 being the last significant event.

The uppers being quoted are four to five days away? I don’t see why people need to stop looking.

The cold spell for next week is nailed on - potent North Westerly is incoming and the majority of members currently posting charts live in the areas most likely to be seeing the heavy and frequent hail/sleet/snow/thunder showers.

What is there to be miserable about? I can’t wait for it arrive. :D

Living south of the M4 and seeing all this snow chat and knowing your going to miss out again :(

    Hi, :)

There’s little point going into detail at this stage too far out, but it’s one of those slider low scenarios. A more classic case low being deflected SE due to blocking high to NE and that amplification in the Atlantic aiding this. Ahead of the low the wind is coming off cold continent meaning good dew points, onshore wind so this may limit snow chances for coastal areas. I would expect it to be all snow away from coastal areas uppers are fine and the extreme south west knocker land, I think it’s plausible for there to be a significant snow event in next 7-10 days.

The next of any model is the Icon which his out very soon (but that's a bin fodder model), the next proper model is the GFS, 9-30 until 11 - steadily trickles out.

Ok thank you for that - no idea what the models mean, but am strangely addicted anyway. Judging by the reactions to the last one it's looking good, lets hope the pub run one continues the trend

  5. If I was you I would head up to Exmoor around ilfracoombe way looking at track of showers, could be stunning up there.

Crazy for snow Bazray? If you travelling I would head for the Mendip hills, you wont find anything in Torquay but maybe Taunton. Not until the very late tonight or early hours tomoz.

Crazy for any extreme weather! Always head down to the seafront when there is a good storm on, gets wild down there. But a bit of thunder snow, that is damn exciting.

    Let it snow :-)

Thank You, it's a toss up between Torquay and Taunton tonight. Partner lives in Somerset.
