well I can't posts charts at the moment due to been in hospital and only having acess to my phone. The reason I think the gfs might be closer to the actual outcome is that so far this winter it's been closer to the mark more often than not. I just feel that the ECM has performed poor this winter. But these next few days should tell us who's right. Anyway back to my wonderful hospital food.!!!

I'm very sceptical of these charts from the ECM at the moment. It has performed poor for a good while now. I think we will see something similar to what the gfs is showing at the moment. Although not as great as the ECM it has much more potential further down the line. Think if anyone is expecting a deep freeze with heavy widespread snowfall then I would say your setting yourselfs up for dissapointment. I think we will see snowfall for the usual suspects. But my bet at the moment is that the gfs will be closer to reality than the ECM and ukmo.

Think a word of warning to any newbies. The dark purples on the charts isn't deep cold. My worries are that the temps look very marginal away from the favoured spots for snowfall. Obviously this could upgrade. But my feelings on the gfs and ukmo output so far is that it's a very marginal set up.

Think I'm going to remain cautious of the output at the moment. We have been here so many times this winter. Yes the ECM looks great this morning but I think it has performed poor this winter. As Steve Murr has said the temps don't look great for a big freeze. Think I will wait to see if gfs ECM ukmo are still showing intrest around tues/weds until then I will look at the output and take it with a huge pinch of salt.

Well that was a pretty poor forecast for our region from paul Hudson tonight. Looks very much like a rainy sleety mix for majority of our region. With probably highest areas of Derbyshire Sheffield doing best. Enjoy if your around those areas. Hopefully see something abit more widespread feb time. But think tonight I will settle down infront of telly and see if there are any surprises in the morning.

Looking at latest update at 17.25 on news 24 weather it looks like hitting around 3am but doesn't look great to be honest. Looks very messy rain sleet and some wet snow. Certainly don't think I will bother with radar this evening tonight with it hitting in early hours. Got work again at 5.30am lol.

Think South Yorkshire could fair the best from this tonight. Us in the west I think are going to struggle. Certainly bbc app for huddersfield is showing just a few light flurries in the early hours. We're as if u look at Sheffield barnsley Chesterfield look as though they could cop some. Heavy snow. So to those in the south enjoy.

didn't think it was great to be honest. South yorks looked good. But for West Yorkshire looked like a very messy picture of rain and sleet with some heavier burst of snowfall towards Halifax.

Just watched bbc weather on news 24 and it looks very sporadic to be honest. Looks like arriving into our region around midnight. Then by early hours has moved away. Would be very surprised to see any meaningful accumulations. Perhaps the highest peaks may see a good few centimetres. But for rest of us looking at that forecast I would say a dusting at best.

That front moving in now is getting weaker and weaker. Think we will see a sugar coating at best tonight. Certainly be surprised if we saw anything else.

Not really expecting anything tommorow to be honest for us. Looks to be a very week feature. Then looking towards weekend seems we're going back into the mild atlantic. I'm pretty close now to giving up on winter. It promised so much but has delivered very little. yes we still have feb March to go but I'm not holding out much hope.

Just watched weather for week ahead. And unfortunately it's looking dry for our region next week. Cold and frosty. Can't see any snowfall for us to be honest.

Think that's pretty much it looking at radar. Also tues weds next week looks very poor for us. Looks like a decaying front that breaks up rapidly. Ah well we always have the solar minimum going into 2017. That should bring some fun and games regarding our winters in future. But after what proved so much earlier in the week has gone out with abit of a whimper.

Shower activity looks to be pepping up on radar. Think tonight may be our best chance of snow. Just watched calendar weather and showed us dry next week but cold. Then milder by Thursday the presenter showed.

Plenty of shower activity on rain today for our region. Expect more snow to settle as temps start to fall.

Looking at the last bbc forecast looks like this evening could see some snowfall. With frozen ground should settle easy.

yeah afraid so. Expect us to get hammered at middlesboough tommorow. But hopefully build a snowman with the kids to ease the pain.

Well think I will go to local for a few pints hopefully when I leave around midnight we might be seeing the 1st reports of falling snow. At least pubs got free wi fi so can keep checking rain today between beers lol.

What time to folk expect the snow showers to hit West Yorkshire?

but from what I gather people are suggesting a return to westerly flow by next weekend. Take it here in good old yorkshire we could hold onto the cold longest.

Just looked at the mod thread. Think we need to make most of this weeks cold spell. A lot are saying the pv over Greenland is looking strong again sending us back to zonal dross with rain and storms. So if we see snow make most of it I would say. As I think as we move towards back end of next week we could be back in westerly airstream.

Confused by the bbc weather app. Showing heavy snow for West Yorkshire all day tommorow. But watched bbc weather on news 24 earlier. And it looks very marginal to say the least. Confused.com
