  2. late November 2010 ??..a whole bunch of snow on the beach in brighton (look..all the pebbles have vanished), unheard of in November. or was it nov 2009 ????.
  3. the local press and tv must be getting a bit excited about the potential for the ice off the n coast to start freezing over.. next thing will be frost fairs in the new year to celebrate.. how much daylight do they get in that nw tip of Iceland..?..hardly any, isn't the tip just north of the arctic circle ??
  4. lol boulderdash..cutting edge back in 84/85..graphics and sound. and gameplay that could go on and on if you were good enough. used to go round my friends house and play it for hours on his commodore 64.
  5. did someone mention Christmas ?. it is the 25th so merry crimbomas everyone.. oh is it a month early ?, gives Rudolf enough time to fly some snow down to us.
  6. well all that above average mild and rainy weather has gone, soon to be kept at bay by an atlantic blocking high.. so..things could develop from there, if we are thinking about really cold weather in the not too distant future.
  7. I was noticing on the bbc info 5 day world cities forecast that Canada is much colder recently.. Calgary and Toronto and/or somewhere else are having mex temp of -3c to -12c or so this coming week.
  8. pics of a fresh heavy snowfall in sunny weather always look good.
  9. Tulloch Bridge got down past -6c 21f around dawn of the 5th.
  10. why isn't rob on tv doing the forecasts now ?. he was good and then he just vanished.. did he get stage fright and not want to be on the telly any more ?.
  11. its -5.5c at 6am reading at Tulloch Bridge in the highlands.
  12. don't forget to tap the side of the crystal ball.. otherwise the forecast for 100yrs time will not be 100% accurate..
  13. so..end of winter predictions on oct 30th, and some obese robins..whats next ?? are the plump robins now too fat to fly..what could it mean ?.
  14. -3.4c at 1am at Tulloch bridge in the Highlands. -4.2c at 2am same location. -5.5c at 6am same location.
  15. aviemore and somewhere called shoben (midlands) were below 0c 32f..according to the met office's 6am readings.
  16. also cold air is heavy and collects in hollows or basins, could be a frost tonight somewhere..
  17. might be a rare ground frost tonight,, met office had 2c or so in rural areas so the potential for somewhere to dip below 0c is there.
  18. The Daily ERRORGRAPH... how did that sneak past the sub editor, editor, or anyone ??.
  19. so then max gusts 99mph iow..gusts of 60-70mph over a fair few locations.. all the action was really more or less south of the m4 corridor, 4 people were killed (5 inc kid in Newhaven), trees blocked roads, railways, a lot of folk no electricity, the met office got it right, seeing as the tracking of it couldn't be pinned down really, prob affected a smaller area of uk than expected. also this system was flagged up way before it even existed which is an impressive feat.
  20. surely you mean the beaufort scale ?, the richter scale is for earthquake measurements.
  21. you wont like it when it arrives..if its still deepening,
