Only wandered in as I heard someone was looking for a gardener  but I'm not offering him indoors out to just anyone

I too wondered in hearing there were some festive dangling twigs and berries to behold.
Like karlos1983.. not brave or merry enough for the MAD thread.

    Besides looks just fine here

now for this week .. Wednesday night stil looking bitter .. but snow ❄️ potential a zero for me?  Question is it the  really thick winter outdoor rug for the horse yet?

This has more comments, so I’m going to post here. This will be a tree killer storm (and any humans beneath). The ground is absolutely saturated down here on the south coast after a week of heavy rain showers and more to come, already got floods in some places. Most of the trees are still in full leaf…most in fact still green. There could be loss of life as the winds will be strong during the day on Thursday as well. I won’t be venturing out as at the least could be lots of road closures.

After todays deluge on the south coast for sure it will be devasting.. the ground is beyond saturated.

i really hope it tracks further south nearer France and leaves our coastline alone.. here’s hoping.

  3. Gusting a bit now down south.. Newbury. Only reason I know as next door left their recycling out and all I can hear is the box rattling around and dispersing it’s contents across the whole street ( their drive is shared with mine and of course their bedroom is out back facing south and so won’t hear a thing - mine faces north .. )

I think this is a bad as it will get, all dry atm - think we have had a bit of sleet.. not like up Narf..

We'll know all about it if a few cars get hit by trees this evening and deaths go into double figures. Pleased to see the red warning, the met office are handling this well, but yes, this should be top headline, there's a million people in the way of this.

    Agree ..

I did just do a complaint to the Beeb and basically said sort it and warn people properly.

Definitely  looks like it's going to get nasty polar bear  up there at the top of the country, just hope people use their common sense and stay in if they can .

    Absolutely Nettie..

But some won’t as you no doubt know.

I have shared now on my FB the warnings and most of my friends now get it when I say this isn’t going to be good listen to the warnings they are there for a reason.

    Agree..

having said that my dad knows about it and lives on south coast.. he heard it on the radio possibly as he has no social media. Mind you he is an old sailor so is attuned to these warnings.

This is the BEebs coverage. Pathetic

The alert - meaning damage and travel disruption may be expected - comes in from 15:00 GMT.

I’ve just sent them a complaint to say not good enough.

Was just thinking that. A lot of people are going to get caught out by this.

Have been having pulses of torrential rain and thunder since 3.30pm here. Still hearing distant rumbles and the rain isn't showing signs of stopping.

When I looked at the radar earlier it just seemed to not move and rotate around the harbour. Fishbourne in Chichester is suffering and so many gardens and garages and roads flooded. Think you are still having rain aren’t you?

heard some semi reassuring news on twitter in the fact he has not got a Satelite Phone and they are the only things working at present, Jim Edds checked in as he HAS got a Satelite phone, so maybe its still a comms issue

Hmm although I heard that was unconfirmed on twitter also... fingers and toes crossed. Comms will though be a mess for sure and I doubt anyone will hear anything for a while anyhow yet... ?

The GEFS 12z mean is looking cold / very cold with a high chance of snow during the last third of january..overall i'm very happy with the models now that predominantly boring anticyclonic spell we've had since christmas is coming to an end!!..wintry weather is on the way!❄️

Seems our feathered friends may  concur with that output too...
