  1. Yup, moving in from the SW now... and building! (Just stretching over the Channel Islands and heading towards the IOW at the moment)

Might save on having to water the plants later on??

Yep also here in Southampton, I will hold on for the plants too. Am on a meter so I am hoping for a few drips at least. Storm is looking hopeful as the clouds are getting thick and the temp is going upl :yahoo:

  2. Awww i'm broody! "geddit"? Broody hahha! Awww can't wait to have fun with the wee characters.

I highly recommend them, such friendly girls, I pick them up and cuddle them, my 4 and 8 year old kiddies do as well, and the eggs are to die for.

They are not like birds, more like a Veloceraptor towards dogs and cats. Its the way they look at them ( wanna a piece of me? Do ya Do ya !! ? :ninja:  )  .... They have my big dog and 3 cats totally spooked :shok: . I don't have to get up at 5 or any earlier for them either, they are not fussy, as long as they have food and water they are happy and giving good eggs ( I only have two so they are no problem. Called Maud and Mabel )

The fox is the only animal that would hurt them.

Ah yes its currently 2 degrees outside with a North by NW breeze feeling like -2 in the wind chill. Chance of snow ? :search:Oh and its a full moon .. :whistling:

  3. Awww I want chickens :-D Do they even come out in the snow? lol

They do come out but not for long as their little feet will freeze. I put extra wood chippings down and keep them in the pen or they can get frost bite very easily on their feet.

As long as it does not go below -20 they like the cold. Perhaps I could get them some little wellies :D

  4.

    From the Daily Echo:

    10:30pm

Gusts of 102mph off the Isle of Wight and 75mph in Southampton have been recorded as the storm gathers momentum tonight.

What a day for southamptonweather.co.uk to break down!

Broken down ? Now .edit .. ... 0:11 am saying 33mph. They must have been woken up by the wind Posted Image

I went outside for my last ciggy and I saw such a beautiful bright moon and the odd cloud passing overhead so fast, it felt like I was on a speed boat. Mesmerising and awe inspiring to say the least.

Eye of the storm? I do not know but its jolly windy here.

My chicken coop is still on the ground and the girls (Maud and Mabel ) are safe Posted Image  I hope...

    Take care everyone
